Hey I was just looking at the cover for "Darkest Hours". Maybe I am reading too much into it and I may sound like a fool. But the cover has a little of a religious overtone to it. If you look at the way the pelican is positoned it looks like the crucifixion. Not to mention the barb wire around the head. Just saying LOL!

I noticed at the bottom of the cover there's a dead pelican.

You know this is the perfect proof of Ulric Neissers theories in everyday use.

The cover art is nothing but a comment on the priorities of corporations, almost definitely inspired by the recent BP spill incident. If you got something religious out of that, I'd say you need to look less into cover artwork and more into your soul

I don't really see any religious theme, nor a religious subliminal message in the artwork.
What I see (in short) is one face of the world we live nowadays.

Well, because we see a pelican in an artwork, that doesn't mean is a christian theme, that is just hilarious. And as icecab says, the "christian pelican" have nothing to do with this pelican.

I like the artwork a lot. It is modern, direct, impressive and realistic.
I'm really anxious to hear this EP. I have my preorder in amazon + fast delivery. Let's hope to know soon which songs is gonna contain.

I'll have to get my hands on this somehow..

Well Said! When I first made the comment it was not to imply anything! (even though some in the forum may have thought so )! I just thought it was interesting in the positioning of the picture. I think the cover is amazing none the less........It definitley reminds kinda of what Infinite cover did ten years ago! So excited!

Hell yeah! That's great news! I'll be there first day it comes out to expreience it in it's totallity: artwork, lyrics, music and all! Hope Stratovarius goes on tour in the U.S. again too!

Well, I just ordered both from amazon.de, and I don't know if I'm totally blind or there isn't an option to change it to English, I've suffered for half an hour with google translator field by field and button by button to get everything right as I don't know any German besides Prost and Wackeeeeeeeen!

Fortunatelly I found out that my info was already saved from my "normal" amazon.com account, otherwise I would've had an even harder time

I hope everything's right as I got the message "Vielen Dank, Ihre Bestellung wird bearbeitet." and the pictures of the 2 items underneath

Now, to avoid further suffering on new buys, can someone tell me where's the option to turn the page into English? I tried clicking to the USA and UK sites listed in the bottom but there's no Strato's new EP on those

I think the two live tracks are performed by the current line-up and are originally from "Polaris Live" recordings. They were excluded from "Polaris Live" album because the "Polaris Live" CD contains over 75 minutes of audio content already and it doesn't have enough room to hold one more track (Both two live tracks are over 5 minutes, but a standard CD can only hold up to 80 minutes of audio content).

About the two new songs, if they will appear in the new album, I think this "EP" should be called a Single.

I can't wait!!!

This is gonna be a fantastic EP, that two live tracks are classics, and I saw Against the wind in Madrid (they played this song in the tour for the first time there) and it was fantastic. And if this two new songs doesn't appear in the final album, then it's better cause we'll have a lot more music! Anyway, I suppose some song will appear. If not, that means they have tons and tons of music! .
And what about "Illumination"?? Who knows now if that will be a song or it was a fake or someting? I can imagine the strato guys laughing his ass off in the variusbunker reading this topic and seeing how we are speculating about all this all the time. And maybe there's a polar bear too.
