Me too - and actually it's not hard if you're a musician. So, the difference between E and E flat, as we were discussing last page, is really evident. If you hear the albuns, this is the tune. So, even if they play with the instruments tuned 1/2 down, that is the sound (I guess I already wrote it... what a fucking spam!)

Yep.
Listen to LEARNING TO FLY,which in the chorus is similar to MARCH OF TIME of Helloween.
And LIBERTY,which is very very similar to GUARDIANS of helloween..
Well, I don't think the first one is true, but the second is very clear itself. Everytime I hear it I think of Helloween's song and sometimes sing the Helloween's lyrics. Funneh, indeed.

Not a strato song, but the intro of "Beginning" by Kotipelto reminds me of "Strangers Like Me" by Phil Collins.. Maybe TK got some influences by Collins? He has already covered an album by him, so why not?

The biggest rip off/tribute I've seen is on Malmsteen's Paraphrase from his new album, it IS the classical solo from Will the Sun Rise, only accoustic and longer, but they are identical

I don't know what you think, but the line "I am hunting high and low" and the line "I walk to my own song" sounds SAME to me...
again, it's not a plagiarism. i like this 'similarity', it puts a smile on my face everytime i listen to them.

Don't why, but "We are the Future" reminds me a lot of a helloween song...don't remember which one. I'll post the name as soon as I find it.

Band: Stratovarius
Album: Dreamspace
Song: We are the future
Phrase: "Fast, fast stop this course now last, last or we won't last, past stop living in the past or you will die..."
Band: Helloween
Album: KOSK II
Song: The March of Time
Similar phrase: "Please, please, let me see, the best way to be, make a change and we'll lve eternally..."
i think it's just coincidence, like all those metal, pop and whatever genre bands that once said "ashes to ashes...dust to dust"

No idea why, but the first seconds of the key intro of 4000 Rainy nights reminds me a lot of the beginning of one Shania Twain hit(which name I unfortunately don´t remember). And that Shania Twain song should be a bit newer...

Ok, you know how in the recording of "False News Travels Fast" (Silence), Kotipelto does the last highpart, screaming "false news travels FAAAAAAAAAAAST!" ?
Does Koti scream all three words or only Fast? I just can't get it...

Well, I'll be, I never knew that...
@Nepi: Koti sings "False news travels FAAAAHAAAAST"
Plus in Songs of Silence (Live in Tokyo) they also play the opening riff of speed of light

Just to add this in, the dual guitar solo in "No Chances Lost" by Cellador sounds a lot like Eagleheart, only at a different pitch.

Listen to 2005 album "Freedom Call - Circle Of Life". It has a song called "Hunting High And Low".
Chorus starts really a lot like Stratovarius' version.
When I heard the singer go "I am HUNTING High", I thought this was a tribute, then it changes a bit, but really, its nearly identical.
I still think that this is completely intentional and that Freedom Call has to have some kind of an agreement with Stratovarius/Tolkki to do this, or the song is just a mild tribute.
I like the song, and the whole albums sounds really nice, but I really hope this is not plagiarism.
Here is the clip:

It's just a great song inspired a little bit maybe , in my opinion. The whole album consist of many great songs. I don't think that they had to "steal" the song.

Well, live, on "Songs of Silence," Sonata Arctica isn't gonna bring Kotipelto onstage for three notes-- they play the riff from "Speed of Light." I guess it's a joke for those who know the connection to Stratovarius in that last part.
Did that make sense?
I think they do it in a few other places, but I can't remember.
Actually, the keyboard solo of Victoria's Secret is played by God...Ups, by Jens Johansson... And on stage... well, Henrik is not as good as Jens!

Another one from Sonata I've just discovered. Listen to the live version of My Land from Songs of Silence. 3 minutes 25 seconds, the same riff as the first part of the instrumental bridge before the solo of Night Time Eclipse... just coincidence, I guess. Very simple riff

Coincidence? I don´t think so. It´s more sure that they wanted to play that by that way.

Anthem of the World/Ride the Sky

hi
Everytime, I listen to the chorus of Anthem of the Word it reminds me to the Helloween song Ride the Sky when Kai Hansen sings "Send me a sign wanna leave it all behind. I'll be leaving the hands of doom. Rearrange the masterplan. Take the future in my hands. To be free and not trapped anymore."
When I sing this song everytime I sing this part and I am not concentrated then I find out that I am singing the melody of Anthem of the World.
