Fear Factory - Archetype

A great album with lots of good songs. Sounds a bit empty without Dino Cazares on the guitars, but I got used to it very quickly. I still think Demanufacture is their best work, though.

Rhapsody - The Dark Secret EP

I Couldn't wait till SOEL2, so I bought the EP to get a preview of what their new album would sound like.
I enjoyed hearing Christopher Lee's voice and the EP itself wasn't bad either. I hope to get the album itself soon.

Sodom - Marooned - Live

I've been looking for this live-album for more than a year now and when I saw it lying in a discount store, I didn't hesitate to buy it.

Personally, I like this album a lot more than their last live-album, One Night In Bangkok, which wasn't bad, but not their best.

uuuuuuuuuuuuuup :D Here I go :

Rhapsody - Dawn Of Victory : Well, it's Rhapsody. Always soud quite the same, but I like it :D

Rainbow - Long Live Rock 'n Roll : GREAT ! Why in the hell didn't I start listening to Rainbow sooner ?

Strato - Twilight Time : A surprise, in the good way. I expected it to be quite average, but it turned out to be very good.

Helloween - Better Than Raw : Too bad Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske aren't there, but stil very good. I love the booklet with those pumpkin-drawings :D

Nightwish - Bless The Child-single : With DVD-part, for The Wayfarer and Lagoon, which are quite good.

Stratovarius - Episode: Originally I wanted to buy Visions, but someone has taken it beofre me. As the next most wanted album was Episode, I bought it.

Stratovarius - Elements Part I Special Edition (hologram): Well, I had the SE from E Pt II, so why would I miss this copy? :) I bought the normal version nearly two years ago, so I have two copies of that CD now.

I love that album.

Recently have acquired a string of CDs/artists, all in a logical progression. Essentially it went like this.

Feinstein > John West > Artension

From there it split in two directions:

Artension > Vitalij Kuprij > Ring Of Fire/Greg Howe

Artension > Royal Hunt >DC Cooper/Andre Andersen

And somewhere in there i got some Manowar also.

Been a busy season.

Glenn Hughes - Return of Crystal Karma
Glenn Hughes - Soulmover

Two solid albums as always by The Voice of Rock. Soulmover, his latest album, might even be his best.

Chris Rea - The Blue Cafe
I generally like the albums he did in the 80s more than his 90s discography, but this album is awesome. One of his best.

Judas Priest - Angel of Retribution
Well, that was original. Pretty good album, but couldn't they have made it a bit more formulaic?

Stratovarius - Episode

Just a classic that i downloaded but because of my respect to the band i buy it and now i have all the lyrics!

Gamma Ray - PowerPlant

WOW!!! What a great album is it!! Some great heavy-speed stuff in it and great melodies

Circle II Circle - The Middle of Nowhere
Circle II Circle - All That Remains (EP)

Hmmm. I think I liked the debut album more. Not a bad album, by all means. Essential for all Zak Stevens/Savatage fans.

Beyond Twilight - Section X
Haven't listened to this one yet, but if it's anywhere as good as their debut album, "The Devil's Hall of Fame", I won't be disappointed...

Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas

Finally got round to getting it. I have all the songs in different versions, but i needed the cd. Great album, absolute landmark.

Darkthrone - Soulside Journey

Amazing how Darkthrone's FIRST album is the really progressive, variated and exploratory one. This one meanders into Opeth territorry a lot of the time, fantastic record. After this, they got really harsh, simplistic, angry, passionate and cold, reaching their peak with 'Transylvanian Hunger'

Please tell me you have In The Nightside Eclipse. It is by far their best album.

Unheilig - Zelluloid
AWESOME album. Sort of like Rammstein, although not as metal and more reliance on synths and stuff. Highly recommended, if you can get hold of the album (might be hard, the guy apparently only has a record deal in Germany). Do check out his website out www.unheilig.com , there's some song samples there...and don't let his looks scare you...

No i dont, but its quite on top of my to-do list ;)
I´ve heard it though and i thought Anthems was more appealing, i seem to prefer their more complicated stuff... all of their stuff is good 8)

Latest haul:

Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance and The Kovenant - SETI...

for the files:
Covenant = good
The Kovenant = not really

Pink Floyd's Relics, a kind of 1967-1971 best-of. I finally heard See Emily Play, it rules :D Zappa's Sleep Dirt, which is very good also, Jordan Rudess' Rythm Of Time which is outstanding (plus it has Satriani-solos :D) and that's about it.

Hypocrisy - The Arrival
I love this album, although its kinda pop-death metal, but great anyway, i´m impressed.

Dimmu Borgir - Enthrone Darkness Triumphant
Well.. there are keyboards. Many keyboards. But seems to be ok.

Ordered In The Nightside Eclipse and Urkraft some days ago and cant wait :P

Pink Floyd - The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, Atom Heart Mother and The Final Cut, just to complete my collection, definitely one of the very best bands ever imo.

Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind, same as above :D

Strato - Infinite, finally got it :D The only one I don't have now is Fright Night.

Plus some others, Zappa's Over-Nte Sensation, Yes' Fragile, Pain Of Salvation's Perfect Element, Led Zeppelin IV, Metallica's Ride The Lightnng and that's about it :D

Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse
Yay! Finally. Its just a perfect album after getting used to it. Quite a dreamy atmosphere. Very good, although the production is a bit weaker than on their later albums. I´d prefer Anthems and Prometheus i assume, but its very close to them.

Mithotyn - In The Sign Of The Raven
The last of their albums that i was missing, surprisingly its quite different from their later stuff, VERY melodic, less aggressive and unfortunately a bit cheesy sometimes. Yet, its a good album. If anyone knows it: there is a short folk interlude, just a minute, with swedish lyrics. Are there any folk (not folk metal) bands doing something similar?

Thyrfing - Urkraft
Another folk metal thing, i like it, although there are quality differences between some of the songs, havent heard it often enough to give a final judgement though.

Bruce Dickinson - The Chemical Wedding
Great. I wasnt aware that so many classic Dickinson songs are on this particular record, i mean, Book Of Thel, Jerusalem, Chemical Wedding and Trumpets Of Jericho are some of my favourite songs of him. Very good album. Perhaps i should buy the new one next...

I seem to be easy to impress after re-reading those descriptions. I think i am not.

This morning I bought the last Dream Theater's album called Octavarium. I have listened to it a couple of times and it's a great album of course, even if it sounds a lot like Train Of Thought.
