In human years I'm about to turn 23 in a month or two. Mentally I'm about 14, though.

I can proudly say I'm a metalhead for more than 18 years now, some of you haven't even been born!

 I'm 23 and we're the oldest here so far...
but where's cliff?? he could be our grandpa 8)

My brother introduced me to the classics and heavy metal when I was 8, since then I'm totally in love with this kind of music. As Patricia said, I seriously doubt this might change someday \m/

Very good question... I really don't know. Maybe they'll do the same as I did in my first concert or maybe they'll invite their parents to go to the gigs together.
I only hope my kids won't feel ashamed about their mother jumping and screaming in a gig :D

Grandpa ? hei, I'm that THAT old :D
And like I said before, I'm almost 13... mentally

I think there is no shame at all to be "old" and listen to metal.
Actually, people like (mmm... mmm...) Patricia or Browneyegirl or Fireblade should just be proud of that, at first because they have great taste, then because they listen to metal for a long time and had never gave up.

I really wish that in 30 or 40 years, I'll still be a metal fan and play some Stratovarius or Gamma Ray to my grand-children!

One great feeling for me, was when I saw Kotipelto live in Paris : Moonchild and her daughter were both there, enjoying the show!

To me it seems that there are Strato fans of sooo many ages. Some of them are little kids, some of them almost grannies 8) I especially noticed it when i was at gigs of Strato. It's just wonderful. For example, in Tuska festival when Stratovarius played there at last time, in year 2003, i saw a guy who was maybe 3 years old, wearing huge red earprotectors, showing the evil sign at the gig of Strato and sitting on the shouders of his dad. That was cute. I guess he is the youngest Strato fan i've seen :)

Ja, Cliff is our grandpa ;)

Ja. I think I noticed him.
The same thing happened when I went to see a Gamma Ray gig in Germany. One couple from UK (real metal fans!) had a son of 6, 7 years old, who was dressed with leather, metal shirts and so on. During the show, this kid was somewhere on the balcony, showing the evil sign. Everyone was staring at him and thought it was great (and it was). However, the way this kid was acting, he was totally out of his mind. He almost fell down from that balcony, but the parents didn't even notice or said anything. They just asked him to jump so the band would notice him. I think it's nice that kids listen to metal, but on the other hand, I think parents must remain parents. If someday I have a son, I will let him live his childhood like a normal kid, I will not force him to enjoy metal if he doesn't want and prefer to listen to Britney and stuffs.
And if he is into metal, I will not bring him to a metal show until he turns 9 or 10, and I'll always be with him. Except if my wife can come and take care of him, so I could spend the rest of the evening to the bar :)
Ja, Cliff is our grandpa ;)
Hei, I'm not the one here who do crosswords wearing granny hat ! :D

I know some teens who have turned their parents on to Stratovarius, and vice-versa! ;) Strato's songs are quite diversified--I mean, there are slow songs, fast&heavy songs, touching, deep songs or happy upbeat songs. So, there is something for everyone--all generations. Hell, even the Beatles did not have THAT-- a large portion of parents thought the coming of the Beatles was a sign of the end! :D

I am 42 next birthday. So I reckon I am the oldest yet.Don,t despair all you REAL rockers out there, if it is in your soul , You will always feel the way that you do now. When you are my age , you will have the great joy of looking through all your cd,s etc and listening to them with pride.Don,t worry about all the so called" mettallers " who when they get married and settle down with kids just want to forget their pasts, stick with the ones who always remember where their loyalties lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long live Rock and Metal.

Im not surprised either. What do you expect older, more mature listeners to enjoy; good music or whatever crap is on the radio and MTV?

Strange age category - 11-20.
I think that category 16-20 are something special. Poeple in that's age have many differences in mind from others.
