Bump. Since people are again discussing the possibility of proposing a new moderator

I believe this is the right place to discuss it.

Not very fond of the idea of mods, but, having to choose one, I think anyone would be fine

I could try to moderate the Finnish side. I would do this by locking all the topics that have words that look suspicious to me, and this would be done entirely by intuition or similarities between Finnish words and words of other languages I speak, at least until I learn Finnish

Those Finns are crazy anyway. Can't they just speak French like any normal person would ?

Sure we Finns are crazy, but during my decades of life, I have yet to meet a "normal" French-speaking person!

Choose 4 users, do a poll and the 1st and 2nd will be the mods...thats simple.
I think that we're doing a big mess about that

I believe that we can choose these 4 users from the Dave's topic and make this final poll and we can quit this subject, most of the active users have posted their votes.

For the finnish part the same.

I think Dude was joking. Its still legal to joke around on a Band forum, I think. Although lots of sourpusses would delete THAT option!

As i perhaps explained before, there are quite a few people who I have given mod privs. They are nobody you'd know, it's people who don't post here at all! That is part of the reason why there is not so much trouble now. If there is any bullshit it might just disappear..

Yes, we could see it, but the fact is, that there are still some trolls lurking around. And there are soem trolls in the Other Languages part too.

Look at HIDDEN Mode--the secret Mods, some StratoGuys use it. So do I&a few other users&lurkers. Thats when you can tell we are being Moderated.
No shame or drama in using it.

For what I have seen, I think moderator presence is very import thing when controlling a board. When people know that now the mod is online and watching it reduces the chances of acting too silly.

Just like in real life, you see law enforcers here and there.

So moderators, in addition to fixing when already broken, do a guard duty to maybe prevent some acts.

Yea, there are trolls here&a person can just be a Lurker and cause trouble if they can pull strings on some mentally disturbed&gullible regular users!
