Ask someone else about the album, who is not a big fan and he will tell you the same. This album cannot compete with all the other new albums of maybe Threshold, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Kamelot...

But as I have written some weeks before: I am really looking forward to hearing the next album.

I dont think its like that...
I think its far more original than any " sonata, kamelot " album for example.
And a lot of ppl (at least hear in argentina ) liked a lot the album even so they are not strato fans... and this is beacause they didnt repet themselfs...

I voted very good, because is really good, but dont reach the classics

Very good songs: Fight, Just Carry On, Back To Madness, United and Leave The Tribe
Good songs: Maniac Dance, Gypsy in Me, Zenith of Power
Regular: The Land of Ice and Snow

But maybe this can change with time...

I asked someone to tell me her thoughts, and she found the new album very cool. She is not a big StratoFanatic, but she likes some of the songs, and the new album as well.

Well, show her some other albums of the bands I have mentioned and then ask her again... I really like stratovarius, but not the new album. But as there are not very much like me, it will sell good. Even I bought it.

I showed them some years ago. She knows, what Strato is like.

And she still says, that Straovarius is a very good album.

i DO miss the fast songs, but as long as those are still played live and more will come along (i hope) but to reply to sonata1980, the new style is ok, cuz elements pt 2 was kind of boring (only 3 good songs) and this album shows the raw potential timo tolkki has for musical arrangements, thus i have no fear of a weaker strato

I think it's good, but somethings missing. Fight, Maniac dance and just carry on was very good, but the rest is pretty boring. I think that Elements pt 1 is much better than this album.

I hope that in the future Stratovarius will use double bass-songs again and add more keyboard-oriented melodies (examples learning to fly, Freedom, Black diamond). The album is too slow for my taste, although it's a good album. I want more songs like Fight wich I consider to be the best song on the album.

So, more of jens and much more doublebass is my tip to make a great album.

I think the album is ok maybe like elements albums
I Like the old albums a lot more
Visions is my favourite album!!
I miss the old sound with speed and doubble drums

Enpä tiedä. You have told your this opinion here already nearly hundred times, so I guess the most of the active members or guests know that you don´t like Elements pt1. With another your opinions you may tell more in the future too.

Like mine for example: That I find a song called Destiny boring

or new Just Carry On is too light.

You know, I don't also like Elements pt.2...

About strato's future, they really should do at least one fast song with super fast keyboards etc. on the next strato-album.

Well, I just bought the new Cd this afternoon and 15 minutes ago I finnished my first "audition" of the complete album. I really find it awesome, not typical Stratrovarius. I just wanted to hear those guys making some other kind of music, and here we got it. But I hope they don't keep only this style; I think that for future albums they should consider mixing the old goldies like Speed of Light, Black Diamond, Forever Free, Destiny, Will the sun rise?... all those extremely fast songs; with this more slow and rythmic songs. If they do that, the new album would be simply... perfect

New album has reached Finnish chart number #4. It's quite good, because there are some cash hits front of it (example Crazy Frog...).

#4? that is excellent news, remember many of us thought this album would only please the fans (i.e. not many people would buy this as thier first strato album)

Yes, and because Strato is not so popular (in Finland) than their "highest popularity" has been. Sp this is quite good result. And Stratovarius was the highest new album at the top40 and highest metal album. Top3:s albums were just pop albums...

I don't know if this is a "good" thing.
In the past, Stratovarius used to reach position #1 or #2 the first week the albums and singles got released. I know Children Of Bodom and another finnish band (Char... something) reached #1 not a long time ago.
Of course there is Crazy Frog and other big hits, but I dunno. I have the feeling Stratovarius isn't as popular as it used to be in Finland. (or perhaps the fact that the album was already on the net 5 months ago is a huge part of it ?)

You mean Charon? Yeah on the single charts they reached position 1 I think, but their new album reached now #6 while Strato got 4th position.

I also guess the fact is the most ppl don´t trust Strato anymore after the turmoil. That´s why they got now only 4th position and you´re right that other metal bands like CoB, NW, SA etc. have got here more popularity in last few years.

I agree with you--that is my opinion, too.

I liked 3 songs on the E1, but IMO, E2 had better&more meaningful songs. I like the Episode/Visions/Destiny Era songs best, too. BUT, those times have passed&its not bad to try a new Style--at least for 1 album. I do not think it will set them back. As I recall there are 2 more Albums they have to do on the Sanctuary contract--unless it has changed.

I can order today or tomorrow. I gotta get back in touch with CenturyMedia. Metal Disc has it, but its $16.99+$5.00S/H. Century Media is lots cheaper, but slower about stocking.

So, I'll wait.

All the elemements, all the style that makes me love stratovarius just desapear in the new album.
The keyboards????? Where are they in?
The new style is very good, but I prefer the old Stratovarius!!!!!!!!

I got the album. I have heard it before, but the covers are great. IMO maybe the best they have ever had. Dark and simple. The photo-booklet of the digipack is also great.
