I especially like one that says: Mama's baby, papa's maybe!
My American Literature teacher liked that one a lot too and repeated it pretty often in class.

YES SIR YOU ARE RIGHT. IT IS NOT SO MUCH A QUOTATION, OR A REQUEST. IT REALLY IS A LIFE PHILOSOPHY!

Well, it's rather difficul starting a true philosophical conversation on a forum, so well, we just publish pertinent, funny, philosophical...quotes!
Very true! Carry on and of course feel free to have fun

I'm sorry, I thought it was Epicurus sentence, but you are right, it's Horatius, although Epicurus used it back a lot in his philosophy!

No one has learned to walk without fall down, not even stand up.
The phrase describes very well that mistakes or damages teach. I found this from one discussion-forum where I hang around, and I got permission to use it.

When a person lives or thinks too much of the past they ruin their future, and the present.
However one saying contradicts: When historys past mistakes are forgotten, mankind is doomed to repeat them.

The difference between revenge, and vengeance:
Revenge is getting even out of a sense of personal anger or bitterness. Whereas, vengeance is getting even out of a sense of justice.
The feelings behind each of these may be similar, but the intent and results are often different. Society often accepts vengeance, but not revenge.

STRESSED=DESSERTS, backward!

Some people eat sweets when they are nervous, or stressed out. Like ice cream, cookies, cheesecake, etc.
Speaking for myself, when I am in a bad mood or stressed, food is the last thing on my mind! :(To each his/her own, I guess!
