It's a... sore subject on Onkel Jeremiah's ranch... But, we were building our monument to the great phallus one day when Timo Tolkki was playing a nearby show, he... fell off the stage and started rolling. He continued to roll until he got to the ranch, and completely destroyed our monument. In the legal proceedings we decided to look up this crazed man's music and thought "This ain't half bad"

My dad loved Stratovarius until he heard Fourth Dimension (he hated Kotipelto's voice). So I got into Stratovarius when I was around 5 or 6, listening to Fright Night, Twilight Time, and Dreamspace constantly when my dad loved Stratovarius. Unlike him, I loved Kotipelto's voice, so my love continued.

The first time that I heard Stratovarius I think was in 1996 or 1997, not sure about the year, but the first song that I heard was galaxies, really one of my fave songs ever

Alright but TK must be...well Pikachu, he's more famous than the others and many think he's cute...also he has a high voice.

In 1995 I was in a music shop specialized in metal bands when I heard an unbelievably good instrumental song coming out from the shop's loudspeakers. I asked one of the clerks about that song, and he promptly told me that it was from a "new Finnish metal band". The song was "Stratovarius", from the "Fourth Dimension" album. I bought the CD right away, and the rest is history...

I think I have never told my version of the encounter with Stratovarius:
It was 1999, when I was 7 years old, and I remeber my brother (still now, my guide to the metal world) having come one day from school with a friend to make some kind of project (can't remember now). So they were in his room and I was playing downstairs, when I heard my brother singing "Agaaaaaainst the wiiiiind we gooooo!!!"; I went upstairs (at that moment, I had already heard some Iron Maiden, Metallica, Van Halen, and those bands) and asked him what was he singing. He put me the headphones, and in that moment I fell in love with Stratovarius... But there was one trick: At that moment I didn't know they were called Stratovarius, neither my brother nor his friend. I had to wait until "Visions" was released, where I found out more about Stratovarius and (like most of you) headbanged with "Black Diamond"
The rest is history ...
