You will be wrong. There won't be Kiske-heights Halloween for example or anything, but Andi-style. That's alright with me though.
I agree though that Andi probably knows what he's doing. I bet the band has the eye at this stage to decide what songs they all can play well, including Deris.
Well hopefully they'll backend this with NEW material, and tour with mostly the new stuff.

I somehow doubt that we'll see new material soon.

No, please no Deris on Kai's or Kiske's songs
Part of the point of this album is to add current members' style to the songs, and it is obviously more noticeable on the voice than anything else. I think this is gonna sound great... especially A Tale That Wasn't Right.

I had heard they were going to do a 25th anniversary album and then a regular album

I don't know if Helloween's description of the album is that good. In my point of view it's not only about the most important songs. Yes, the main weight is on them (the Keeper era), but Where the Rain Grows and Fallen to Pieces for example aren't like that. Maybe they meant something like, 'Mainly the Important Stuff Plus Some Songs the Band Would Just Like to Record with the Current Line-up for No Reason, Or to Make Them Up-to-date'.
I'm not so what-if-person on this topics normally, but... What I would really have liked to hear is Still We Go as the last track. :ยด)

Yes, Still We Go is a great song, Roland did a great job. The guitar parts are beautiful.

And I thin that is the reason we won't get it. Roland composed it. I know it is a bit hypocritical from the band since they re-recorded Hansen songs, but they seem to have a huge problem with songs either written by Grapow, Kusch or Kiske.

I agree, but they didn't play Kai's songs from 1991 to 2001 (excepted Future World). I think it's a bad thing since Roland wrote great songs like The Chance and many more.

I think they played I Want Out and Heavy Metal is the Law during the Dark Ride Tour in 2001. They also played Ride the Sky during the Master of the Rings Tour in 1994/1995. But apart from that they really played no Hansen tunes.

Yes, I was not thinking to that while writing. Also they don't play Roland's or Uli's songs since the 2003/2004 tour, but they played Mr Torture (Uli) during The Legacy Tour. So, it's quite difficult to see what's the problem.

That is weird indeed. Although I'd still MURDER to See either The Dark Ride, The Departed or Immortal (Stars) live.

The Dark freakin' Ride! But that's a curse for the current line-up, still, ten years later. So unfortunate. :/
I neer bothered to check who was behind Still We Go. Well, it being Roland explains its absence from the record. Too bad; it would have shown, once again, that they are live and well. I love any kind of these cheesy self-tribute songs (Freedom Call - United Alliance, HammerFall - HammerFall, Stratovarius - United etc.)

Although the Stratovarius Song leaves a bitte-sweet taste knowing that the band was anything but united at that point.

Yes, it turned out to be a very fake indeed. ;( Still it's great as a song. ^_^

I'm really glad there aren't any Dark Ride tracks on this, honestly, I think they would take a giant shit on the album and make it much more happy. TDR is perfect as it is

If I could fly, I would correct you. But changed version? You know, Fallen to Pieces is so new it has to be in some other form. Also, these are more symphonic tracks on their albums. Are they doing some kind of more bad ass heavy versions of them or making them even more epic, or will they change them at all?

Maybe this and the guitartunig. IIRC they tuned down their guitars when they recorded The Dark Ride. But does this alone really justify a re-make?

Definitely not. Many songs would have been much more interessant to be re-recorded. But perhaps there will be an orchestra playing on this song, etc...
PS: I know somebody who pre-ordered the CD in Japan: it countains a bonus DVD

Haven't they said that they recorded a show during the Hellish Rock Tour? Or was that just Gamma Ray?
If this is another Japan-Only thing, that would be bullshit.

they are rewritting the songs so leaving the songs as is would be breaking that definition.

There was a statement releades yesterday one a german website and they said that:
Eagle Fly Free will be a soft ballad with a duet of Deris and Harriet Ohlsson.
A Tale that Wasn't Right will be a melancholic orchestrated version.
If I Could Fly and Falling to peaces will be soft, lounge-music like.
Dr. Stein will be a Ska Version with trumpets.
In other words it is going to suck. The band just completely lost me on this one.

This is another moneymaker!
Helloween is becoming equal to Iron Maiden who is only reviving old hits & survives from the past

this set won't be seen as living in the past since they are changing it so much, it misses a lot oftheir audiance completly. this is like making a chemelian 2 out of the hits. something i artistily appreciate and will like, but something many fans will surly be prima donnas about.
