They showed the mini-series "Attila" on the History channel - 4 hours worth. It was epic and awesome. An extremely well done movie that captured that period of history accurately.

EDIT: Following the Ninth Gate on Channel 4 "Biker chicks in Zombietown" aka "Cycle Sluts". A group of motorbike riding chicks, a busload of blind orphans and a dwarf (played by the guy who played howard the duck apparently) fight zombies in a mining town.
There is no way this film will not rule!

that does sound pretty cool!! What did you think of the Ninth Gate?
Oh yeah i watched Ringu, not too bad if you ask me, the only scary part was right near the end. That other movie you were on about, with the satanic dwarf or something was on straight after the ring, i would have taped it but i had it on timer record and i only saw about 5 minutes of it!!

It was an.........O_K movie but certainly not the best film that Johnny Depp has been in. It looked like it would be alright to start with but within 30 minutes you could see it was going to be another one of those satan on steroids type of film.

Daddy Day Care and Anger Management
Both typical american comedies, not funny by any means.

listen to your mate. its good if your interested by religion and stuff (like me) but its not the most intellectually challengin movie ever made. That said i still enjoyed it, mainly because of the sex
Oh yeah I watched Dogma again last night, I had to were studying religion in Media, and it made me realise what a God (ha ha get it) awful film it really is!!!!

Yeah Dogma is a terrible film.
Kevin Smith: "Ooooh let's cast god, but wait get this....it's a woman"
Producer: "Wow. That's deep. Have 10 million dollars"
KS: "STAR WARS, STAR WARS!"
Producer: "You can leave now Kevin"
KS: "I've never touched a boobie."

Wow, what a difference of opinion!! For me not even Alan Rickman can make it good!!
Spoiler
Ok so the storys not that bad, but the way its acted and generally told on screen is very boring (for me anyway)
and the ending is so predictable. Theres this whole vision of hell on Earth and the end of all mankind, the angel is about 3 steps away from entering the church and destroyig earth. And then, oh no the good guys prevail and God come to save the day!! What a bore. I just wish that one Hollywood film would, after threatening to end mankind for the firs thour of the film, would just get on and do it!!!

I taped that movie when it was on the USA Channel a couple of years ago. And, it was definitely very good.
A few weeks ago PBS Masterpiece Theatre had "Warrior Queen" about Queen Boudicea, who temporarily halted Roman Invasion of Britain in the early centuries! Vey well done, and true to the history of Boudicea that I read.
There is a statue erected in London(I think, its in England)in her honor....If only all women could be as strong as she!

Just watched the new Matrix flick. Better than the second one. Although they did rely a little too much on effects. (Although the ones they did, were good)

I liked that movie---the idea of a woman being Lucifer wasn't too appealing---but, I think she was like an angel to Satan--because in the movie the Depp character asks if she is his Guardian angel, and she replies,"You might say that....or maybe" She was like Satan's angelic represenative because she was not a deity--she bleed&got hurt. And the 9th Gate wasn't what you think--it was representative of entering a gate. Sex was the actual 9th Gate. The smile she had was a smile not of satisfaction, but of trumph, as if she fulfiled her mission/purpose.
Some peoples opinion was that the Depp character was like the Second Coming of Satan.
There are message boards, and webpages GALORE about the Ninth Gate movie---fascinating!
I'd like to read the book someday!
Who do you think she was?
Could she have been Lilith--the female part of Lucifer? Dunno-that was another opinion...

Yeah is very interesting, I like Ocultism !
I like to know if that Book really existed 'cause I found some familiar in the internet !
I agree that the girl of the movie was like a Satanic Angel or maybe a Sucubus !?

The Girl was much smarter than a succubus.
In the Bible it mentions that Lucifer was God's most beautiful angel, so maybe the girl was Lilith

I'm going to have to read those message boards again---people had quite a few opinions about the mystery of The Girl!
But, almost everyone agreed that the Depp character was some kind of Chosen One of Satan. And only he was allowed to solve the mystery of the 9th Gate!

So maybe We are the "Chosen Ones" too

Now I remember that Stratovarius have a album with this name
About the movie, I don't think she was Lilith, she was just a servant of Satan in my opinion !

hang on you've confused me. When the idea of Lucifer being Gods most beautiful angel and being a woman is bought up you think its great, yet you dont find the idea of a Woman Devil as appealing, even though everyone knows that Lucifer fell fron heaven and formed hell. Make up your mind!!!

The concept is fascinating of course--but, as a woman myself, its not appealing!
Fascinating, and appealing are two diferent words with 2 diferent meanings!
For example, death itself fascinates me because no one knows whats on the other side/what awaits us all---yet, death does not appeal to me because I'll be leaving my family, friends, and my life behind on this particular cosmic plane----
In other words, a person can be FASCINATED by an idea, yet, at the same time the actuality of the idea manifesting itself in reality is repulsive.
Another example is the KKK--their sick beliefs fascinate me-but they sure as Hell don't appeal to me. The same goes for Satanists, and other groups.
I hope that cleared that issue up-if not, sorry.

yes i know fascinating and appealing are two different points!! You missed the idea of my post!
I was saying that you think the idea of a woman being the most beautiful of Gods angels is great, yet the idea of a woman being the devil (bear in mind this is the same angel) is nothing to you!! Or am I too tired and have misread your point, i dont think i have

I've just watched Frailty. Well definitely recomended. Very dark, very interesting, very good. It's thriller, but not of a kind wheb a woman is running away and suddenly a murder apears out of nowhere. None of this shit. This a very good made, solid film with interesting plot. I'm not telling it, just find out yourself, it's worth watching.

The Matrix Revolutions
Too early to say what I think of it. Still no match for the first one, though.
Equlibrium is great, although still no match for it's greatest inspiration...
