Symfonia
I'm sure that we will get a dvd from Stratovarius, hopefully one will be recorded next year after Jorg has made a full recovery.
As far as the symfonia one goes I am sure that this one will be good, I would like to see what the chemistry is like between all these great musicians.

yeah like Tolkki2 (that is timo, but from earth two you seehiro23 wrote:I'm sure that we will get a dvd from Stratovarius, hopefully one will be recorded next year after Jorg has made a full recovery.

as for a chance of an Stratovarius Dvd, we all waited for too long for a golden line up DVD (that is, Jari, Jorg, Timo T, Timo K and Jens) but never happened, I think I wouldnt be so interested in a DVD with the new line up that much. but lets see if they come up with something brilliant.

Adrian9:I would have liked to have seen a classic line up DVD as well however at this point it doesn't seem likely, besides I'm sure the current line up will come up with something good as far as a dvd is concerned
ggonza43:the way it looks is that it will end up one of two ways, they will either be brilliant together and continue on or they will clash with each other and it ends up being a one off project.
There are of course other scenario's that could happen but these are the most likely one's. unfortunately you can't predict where a band will go, it's up to the members themselves to either work something out or to call it quits, let's just hope that the chemistry is there.

Re: Symfonia
On the contrary, I don't want old line-up dvd. Should be strange now. Now is Matias playing and the fans would be confused if now you release a dvd with the old line-up. I don't see it. If it was not released when the line up with Tolkki was there, I don't see a reason now. I want a dvd with the new line-up.adrian9 wrote:yeah like Tolkki2 (that is timo, but from earth two you seehiro23 wrote:I'm sure that we will get a dvd from Stratovarius, hopefully one will be recorded next year after Jorg has made a full recovery.

Re: Symfonia
I personally feel more chemistry in the "new stratovarius", so I'd prefer a DVD with the current line-up, but I have to admit, the old line-up did all those masterpieces... all the Strato masterpieces, actually!!!

Re: Symfonia
Yes, but that is gone. I mean, when the old line-up was there, there was no possibility to release a dvd, so now, when that line-up doesn't exist anymore, what's the point? Many fans woudn't understand (I think me included) the reason to release a dvd with a line-up that doesn't exist anymore instead of releasing a dvd with the line-up that is producing albums and touring right now.Arkash wrote:I personally feel more chemistry in the "new stratovarius", so I'd prefer a DVD with the current line-up, but I have to admit, the old line-up did all those masterpieces... all the Strato masterpieces, actually!!!
Now we have this new line-up and I want to see them.
Regarding Symfonia, I have asked in the bands forum what people expect from Symfonia and many people wants the sound that TT had with Stratovarius. IMO is impossible for them cause the pieces are not the same, we'll hear some familiar sound of course cause it's TT, but the rest are not there. The same with the new line-up, you hear Stratovarius, but different. I think it's cool.

Which such a variety of musicians, each one having an unique strong personality, the most important issue I assume is the egohiro23 wrote:ggonza43:the way it looks is that it will end up one of two ways, they will either be brilliant together and continue on or they will clash with each other and it ends up being a one off project.

Re: Symfonia
Adrian9:who knows, although I think we may get one before then, but then again maybe I'm being overly optimistic.
ggonza43:very true, we don't know if there will be ego's clashing, however let's just hope that they are all creative enough to let the music do the talking and let the ego's take a back seat.

I agree, it will be interesting to see how things turn out, especially with many dominant personalities, hopefully their musical visions don't conflict with each other

Re: Symfonia
In Multimedia - Symfonia website you have videos, there are samples at the beginning of each interview, some in the middle and in the final part. Then, you have in the second video of "Happy Holydays" TT playing a song that sounds really cool.ggonza43 wrote:Indeed. Still no further samples from Symfonia?

Re: Symfonia
I´ve just checked out those "making of" videos, and the song tolkki is playing ( I wonder what interphase he is using this days to record his guitars by the way) sounds a lot like "vision/episode" days. im like those power metal riffs. du du param du du param du du param rararammm
also the drummin of uli is perfect!
this is truly the next logical step in TT career so far.
RR was kind of a.....i dont know what it was.
but wasnt this good.

I agree. Sounds a lot like TT's works. I mean, it's TT style. But well, we'll see the final result in the cd. This sounds million times better than RR.adrian9 wrote:I´ve just checked out those "making of" videos, and the song tolkki is playing ( I wonder what interphase he is using this days to record his guitars by the way) sounds a lot like "vision/episode" days. im like those power metal riffs. du du param du du param du du param rararammm

I'm very excited to hear the new material as well, I agree that RR was a bit different(even though I liked it personally) and I can see why many others didn't like it.
This one definitely sounds like Tolkki in his element
