andre matos is a great singer, he has recorded some shit , for sure, but I think he is in the top 10 of the best metal singers....at least.

I've stated that "Angels Cry" and "Holy Land" are the best albums Matos had made and they wouldn't be the same if Falaschi sang on them. Besides, I'm sure I will start a huge shitstorm

with this, but Matos > Falaschi

Personally I like them both, to me it's like comparing apples and oranges, but I mean seriously if someone doesn't like Andre's voice I would wonder as to what voice they would consider good?
Are these the same people that think that Paris Hilton is the smartest person ever?
Sorry just ranting

I would say that his voice is unique, a nice breath of fresh air in power metal

Are you afraid of saying he's old

?! Everybody gets older, we shouldn't be surprised

The point is that he's a good singer, I mean at least he's not grunting like he's in pain

No, I don't think he is old. for me people around 40-50 are not old. And old is a concept that exists a lot in our minds, cause there are a lot of people with 30 that are older than people with 50.
Anyway, when I hear fresh voice in power metal I think of somebody with two or three albums and not so known, but Matos?
And for me Matos will be new in this albums cause I was never a fan of Matos and I never listened to Angra or shaman or his works. for me it sounds something like Sammet or Rantanen. That kind of almost destroyed voice that is cool. I can't say I don't like it. We'll see in the final album.

Indeed, maybe he improved his voice (which I find highly undoubtful

)

Of course I meant in the Symfonia context

It would have felt stupid if Symfonias singer sounded like Timo K.

if you found a singer who sounds like tk, by all means, tell me. I'm talking about perfect emulation, not some ambiguous stretched definition where the word "like" no longer has any meaning

There's no such a singer that sounds "exactly the same" as other. Similar is one thing, exactly like one is another thing

How do you mean? My thought is that it's a good thing if Stratovarius and Symfonia have distinct differences. I Love TK's singing, and It would feel wrong to hear his voice poorly emulated with Symfonia.

As I stated before I would rather listen to Matos then many other singers that sound like they are experiencing extreme intestinal pain.
Although I do understand about singers sounding too similar, I always catch hell from the Kiske camp but I wasn't a huge fan of his voice in Helloween, don't get me wrong here I think the albums he does with them are great but I just don't think he stood out all that much as whenever I heard his voice I kept silently thinking to myself "Geoff Tate?".
Love him or hate him at least Andi Deris makes an effort to sound more unique.

ggonza43:I agree, however don't say that to the Kiske fans.
Kecos:but also take into account that Deris has done way more albums then Kiske so he definitely has more material, plus I don't know how else to put this but I believe that the Deris songs have more "Oomph" to them
