I'm the opposite of you guys, i like it when a music video tells a story or is more obscure then just showing the band playing.

I hear from a friend that Symfonia will be releasing a video in few months. It will really be something new, for the fans who are the first priority of the band it seems.

Marketing matters too, that's what I've studied and if you wanna sell you have to invest.

I'm not saying that it has to be expensive, just cool. For instance this 2 videos I think had an average budget of money and check out the difference is evident,

I think sometimes it depends on the budget and other times it all just depends if the concept of the video works with the song itself.

But then again I have seen video that were completely hilarious and had nothing to do with the song however somehow worked

Now, to me, it's not so much about the budget, you can have a ton of money, but if the whole concept is s**t, tacky and already been done, your video will result in a really expensive piece of s***!

I've met bands that had all those disneyland productions and the video ends up... looking so cheap :repuke: I have no words. And I met bands that don't have too much to work with and they come up with awesome videos. It's about working with what you have and making it look like you spent millions.

Now marketing, I think the trend right now it's all about the fan- feedback bands get and create... it's easy, it's immediate and you don't have to invest too much $$$. You have many tools on the social networks that work for the well established bands and the new ones.

My advice: stay away from the forests and the white backgrounds... :pop:

You said that "Eagleheart" should have never been done . But now that I think of it, I'd like a simple video, like the ones they used to make of the band playing live, the audience going crazy...It's so direct and right to the point

Sometimes that works but sometimes it doesn't, sometimes a song is just screaming for a conceptual type of video.

the best metal video for me is "i want out" , and the best musical video ever has to be, hands down "sledgehammer" by peter gabriel. if strato could combine those two concepts into one....that would be beyond perfection.
