Stratovarius New Drummer - Peter Wildoer?
kotipelto is a worse singer than jorg is a drummer, so get him out too and the band can really start doing something.

Re: Stratovarius New Drummer - Peter Wildoer?
well, why are there so many comments here about now that jorg is out the band can get a better drummer? the comments about peter being too good for stratovarius. the comments about picking a drummer for more technical music, as if jorg could not deliver more technical music? people just saying the band is better now for having a more technical guitarist as if emotion and expression does not matter.

The band is much more than a money making enterprise, but money enters into almost everything we do in life, there is nothing dirty or filthy about money in and of itself.valo_666 wrote:By naming these options it's obvious that you agree with me that the use of Stratovarius name is based on the trademark advantages. Nobody is gonna kick you out of here for saying Stratovarius is a cadaveric band. Compared to some of the stuff and pictures people post here, "cadaveric" is downright polite.

I agree in spirit with all the people who disagree with you though, and moreover for all the complaints and opinions about what a terrible place this is, I'm often surprised how intelligent the discussions turn out to be.
We have lots of drummer suggestions, it's becoming almost overwhelming to sort them all out. It's very humbling and honoring to see all these guys interested in joining. I write guys, because so far no girls have applied (so far). Some of the people we have heard from, doubtlessly you have heard of before too.
I'm really hopeful about the band in general and the next album. I can assure you we -- and this website and this forum -- are not dead yet.
Jens.

LOL Jens, that's what I love about this forum...unlike some out there, where you can't utter the least word of negativity about a band without getting banned 6 ways 'till Sunday, or letting forum admins wield power over fans because they think they're somehow better than the rest of us for *being* an admin, you guys can take constructive criticism (and not-so constructive criticism), and you actually *interact* with your fans; adding onto the list of the many reasons why you guys are awesome!
And really, if this place is so awful...no one is making you stay. It's not like the early days of the internet where you didn't have as many options. I think what makes this place special is that the admins (Jens) let this place operate itself and gives the members here the credit for having enough brains to solve their own problems, not always having to step in and delegate petty squabbles or reprimand people like they are children.
I say this with many years of mod experience behind me at other forums, so I am not just being a b*tch here. OK, well...I'm always a b*tch. But everyone here has already known that for a long time.

I think that it is well-said that a band is similar to a regular workplace. Some workers stay longer, some leave sooner. Usually long duration of employment is preferred, but sometimes the time just runs out and inevitable changes happen...
If for example a CEO or management team member leaves, that doesn't mean that the company changes the name. Of course such occurrence has its own consequences, changes in strategy and such, but all in all, the train continues to run.
I personally think Stratovarius guys have just the same right to make money and earn their living as anyone else in this world, with the name they own. I think the real fun and enjoyable part is that their work connects and entertains so many people from all over the world. That's why I'm here too.
Interesting that the Symfonia forum is taken down now, but it was practically dead already. It was just a matter of time.
EDIT: my favorite (still) is Alex Landenburg
He's really friendly person...

Re: Stratovarius New Drummer - Peter Wildoer?
I remember a guy, he made a pot of dough in the undertaking business after he got out of the shadows. What he did, he started these undertaking parlors all over the country that you could get members of your family buried for about five bucks apiece.
He probably just shoves them in a sack and dumps them in the river. Anyway, he gave his foundation a pile of dough. The first football game of the year, he came up to school in this big goddam Cadillac, and we all had to stand up in the grandstand and give him a locomotive—that’s a cheer. Then, the next morning, in chapel, he made a speech that lasted about ten hours. He started off with about fifty corny jokes, just to show us what a regular guy he was. Very big deal. Then he started telling us how he was never ashamed, when he was in some kind of trouble or something, to get right down his knees and pray to god.
Some minutes later, he said to all of us: "FUCK YOU!!! Bring this sign to the humankind."

Re: Stratovarius New Drummer - Peter Wildoer?
well joteke couldn't be more right in that statement.
this is one those places (taking facebook aside, because i'm a bitch at facebook) where you can personally debate with others, laugh, share moment, with a low moderating rate (since Jens has become another troll from time to time).
sometimes it gets difficult (like pregnancy things we've passed a few weeks ago) and when i can turn chaotic, but we always get things right at the end of the day
about the drumming stuff, i really think it's considerate and awesome that the band can give the chance to view some new talented drummers/musicians, even tho there's already a set of recognized names in the list, like Landenburg, Wildoer, etc. would be good to try also for a new talent, it's always fantastic, and it brings hopes for new musicians in the metal scene to someday achieve something great!

I am very proud to say to my friends that my favourite band is not dead yet. Let Matias compose and give his fresh view of Metal, let Jens bring his experience, his notion of music, let Timo thrill us with his voice, with his eyes, and let Porra show his power, his versatilty.
Now add a talented drummer, a nice guy and what we have? I must call it S-T-R-A-T-O-V-A-R-I-U-S with all it's letters.
Some people want to finish with this ship that has sailed far away, but that is not Costa Concordia, that sinks in the first trouble, this is a good ship, a really good one.

Sorry to spam, but I just realized this makes an even 3800 posts. Yay me.
(That was an homage to the old forum, where you could actually see the number of each individual post, so we would all sort of "race" each other to see who could make a certain number first.
