Two weeks ago I woke up when I felt something on my right hand. It was a big spider, here in Finland we rarely see this big spiders. I grabbed its leg, opened the window and threw it out. So, I'm not afraid of spiders but I don't like if those damn creatures disturb me while I'm asleep.

mi mom WOULD have died, i would have just taken it to the backyard and lit it on fire.... im not afraid but as bones said you DONT WANT TO WAKE ME UP!

lately i saw a report in thelevision about the biggest spiders of the world.. they live in a cave, but i can not remember the country.. they are as big as a plate.. its discusting!!!!!

Probably Africa--everything is bigger in Africa.
OR, Madagascar--there is some weird wildlife there. I mean, REALLY strange!

I have heard about the spiders (living in Africa, I think) which are very violent. If you go close enough, it might attack you. Maybe it is the same spider we're talking about. It was very big

i thought it was the bird eating tarantula... could be my bad... iv'e heard the DO eat birds the size of sparrows and the like, maybe ill post a pic

than we are not talking about the same spider .. this big one was not aggresive

then possibly the tarantula, quite docile if you are not a bird i've seen people carry it in their hands and petting the damn things!

I really love spiders. I had one as a pet on this summer vacation, actually. They're so cute and nice!!! And little ones taste well (I know, I'm just fuckin crazy, but I have eaten spiders and not in a tropical place, it was one I caught at my room). I just hope that u don't discriminate me for my paranoia...

Here in the South we have a weird spider(it is harmless) which is gray in color. The Female carries its egg case around. It does not build a web. Then, the babies hatch out&the Mother spider carries these babies--100s of them--on her back! And these little ones make her look 4 times as big! People get frightened&swat these spiders&all these babies fall off&you are left with a little adult spider!

Then, there are these tiny, furry black spiders that crawl around&stalk flies! We had one that lived in our house once& my EX named him "Frank" Frank was a shy, harmless little booger that came out&crawled on our Livingroom ceiling everyday--and if a bug or fly was there, he'd sneak upon it&jump on it!

In my room there was a spider I named "Hämppy" (Spidey or something) and then one day I found Spidey dead. Crime scene investigations are still on to it.

Well, spiders have a lifespan like everything else--if they are lucky not to get swatted, stepped on or eaten by something they will die of "Old age" Out of all those teeny babies Mom-spider carried on her back the number which lived&eventually died of old age probably numbered in the Single digits!

Btw, How many species of spider are there? My Biology training says thousands&thousands! So there's a Favorite spider for everyone!

DAMN! It was freezing cold in our cellar and those damn red,hairy and venomous spiders just keep on going! Crazy creatures... Well I killed a spider in my room in the summer and then I found out it was a carrying mother spider, luckily I found it... Otherwise I would have a serious spider problem ... Those damn critters...

so, no infestation, so far....?

But my "fav spiders" are always those normal SMALL spiders which are not scary and they're funny to watch. They are my little friends here at home and they also help to keep house clean... I love those funny idiots

i LOVE spiders! they are so beautiful! i would love a pet spider, any kind but my family would would totally freak out!
