After Hunting high and low there was the encore
which consisted of Forever, Destiny and Black Diamond.

I flew and will fly about 6000 miles to Europe from Japan to see shows in many times.
Usually I don't try to meet the bands , I drink with my friends or some guys who are coming to see the show.
I don't think I don't want to meet the band , but I don't want to bother them.
So (Jens wrote so and I think so) "I pay the ticket price, I get to see and hear the band perform."
I just bought "Show's ticket" , I have right to see it but I have not right anymore.
I do so when I am "a fan" , but I have other opinion if I'm not "a fan".
Famous people might not be able to have their own time sometimes.
and... if the people famous reason has relation of their job , and they don't want it , they can change their job.
There are some jobs that just have little relations with the unknown people.
The fan is customer in other meaning.
It's their choice how treat their customer.
And, if customer cannot satisfy it or/and them, the customer can choose other one.

Kaoru, that is a great Analogy. Almost perfect&I like it!
The thing is, if a Store loses too many customers for any reason they usually go out of business---UNLESS they can come up with new&fresh catchy Gimmicks to attract new customers. Sometimes this ploy works, sometimes it doesn't.
Actually, I personally do not care if I get treated shabbily by a store(even for no reason)if the products are good and I like the products the store sells. I will still buy the products. However, I will lose respect for a store which selectively&blatantly treats some customers like "royalty" more or less, and ignores or snubs/looks down their nose at other customers.
But, it does not matter anyway. Everything in life is temporary to everyone. So getting worked up over such nonsense is useless--you cannot force anyone's attention to you, thats one of the most heartbreaking facts of life. So Dragon77 needs to learn that fact as lots of us peons have!

*cough* *cough* Yeah, given that 60% of the ppl are not fans of Stratovarius but fans of Black Diamond, they'd better play it :p

I don't like either , the people who chant for
Black Diamond since the middle of the set.
But Forever and Destiny are 2 of my most loved
songs

Yeah, just think how comforting that situation is , specially for the band.

That part I agree with at least. I would have felt quite hurt too if Jens had ignored me the way it's been said here.
In my experience Nightwish has this attitude toward their fans nowadays, and that has coloured my attitude towards them, especially since a recent show (where their behaviour was like here, to about 20 fans that waited in the cold for an hour to meet them, but they hurried into a black-windowed car and left, ignoring the fans). However, I still buy their CD's because I believe they truly write their music from the heart, even if they have become more commercialised. (I wish I had an Angel).
No matter how much fans love the music, the attitude of the musician goes a long way to how loyal fans are (ie do they spend their hard earned cash on shirts? How proud are they to be your fan?) One word : Yngwie. The guy is damn good, but I would not waste my cash on shirts. Hell, I don't even buy his CD's nowadays.
OTOH, I am proud to wear my Strato shirts. That might be because Jens always has nice manners to me whenever he saw me. Funnily, I don't have any Nightwish shirts. The bewildering array of allsorts of NW merch available kind of puts me off, though. Should I call them Nighwi$h?
Loyalty / being nice to fans etc. are especially important when fans decide "do I travel to that show?" or "do I get a Strato shirt to wear at the next festival, to show the world I am a fan and proud of it?"
Or maybe in times of "comeback/rebirth" when Strato can do with all the fan support it can get.
But then... hypothetically, if my colleague annoys me on my break, in the coffee room, I would tell them "put it on my desk, I'll do it later" in an annoyed voice, after trying to ignore him and give him the hint that it's my time. Is that a good analogy? After all, most ppl do a job for the money (me included, albeit smth I enjoy), few ever have the chance to follow a dream and make a vocation out of paying the rent like Strato has. So, there would be more meaningful interaction between fans and musicians than me and my colleague.
It's a difficult one.
Jens might have not made the best public relations excercise, but he sure won't get annoyed by fans while eating ever again!

So something is achieved by the "discussion" after all.

Black Diamond is the Stratovarius Classic, every band has one.

It is the song they are known for. There are fans that do not like it, but they are in the tiny minority.

Yngwie is OVERRATED. since 98 he doesnt record something really good. except 3 or 2 tracks, thats bad and this guy played with many awesome muscians/singers that i ever saw.
Do you believe that he fired his roadie because his strap was a little too large than the normal? that happened here in são paulo and some journalists saw this scene.

Your comment does not deserve a response because I just figured something out.

Again again. He used to be good. If he were not such an asshole to his bandmates etc....

ppl might like him more.
I think that "shall I download, or do I respect this band enough to buy the CD?" decisions are made partly on the bandmembers' attitude toward fans, as well as how openmindedly they approach any new piece of music. Hell, even the cover art can affect how someone hears a new piece of music.
OTOH, bands are not repsonsible for those kind of subjective decisions that happen inside the minds of others.
I could argue with myself all day on this.
