Ok, so if there are no proper grounds for dismissal, then don't take it! What is wrong with you people?! If someone tried to fire me for a bullshit reason I'd give them a nightmare. I'd make them not want to come into work in the mornings, you can bet on that. Seek legal advice, a letter from a legal firm will scare the hell out of them if they're trying to dismiss you without proper grounds. Legal wranglings are bad publicity, expensive and a hassle for the company, and they will avoid them at all costs, ESPECIALLY if they know they have no proper grounds.

htcdude should've done the same, spoken to a solicitor immediately. But he left it too late, and paid the price.

You know, sometimes it can be a good way to ask to family some help. If there is harmony between you and your dad, then why not try to talk about the problem you have because of this woman?

No no no! Hit them where it hurts! Threaten legal action, ESPECIALLY if you know what they're trying to do is bullshit!

You don't understand, some employers see their employees as disposable assets. (I said some, the majority of employers are ethical and fair.) They will take advantage of you if you do not know your rights. And you have to USE them, let them know you are aware of your rights and that they cannot fire you without a good reason.

Come on people!!!! I don't want to see you get pushed around by unscrupulous bosses.
