Matias is the best choice for the new Stratovarius guitarist! Great choice guys!

I still do hope that Stratovarius continues to go on as Stratovarius. Not as Strato or something other... But as Stratovarius. True, the music is about to take a step to a different direction. But this doesn't mean the name has to chance. It's still Stratovarius even if there's no Tolkki. Band is a group of people who create an entirety - it's not one person. Matias is a great replacement for Tolkki (and I think he'll handle live playing much cleaner and better than Tolkki did) and the best addition to STRATOVARIUS line-up.

So the band has at least my full support of continuing as Stratovarius. If there are legal issues preventing them of using it then it's a different matter though...

I can't wait, I've been very excited ever since I heard the news, I too hope that they keep the stratovarius name.

Very impressive! I can sort of hear some Steve Vai influences, and a bit of Yngwie, of course. His playing is very fluid and clean, and I also like the smooth tone of his guitar from the first clip where he's playing the PRS.

This kid may be the best thing that's happened to Stratovarius in a long time.

fresh blood means fresh new music, I'm excited about the new direction.

can't wait to hear what's next...congratulations on the new guitarist!

Hello Guys,

I was always a true fan of Stratovarius. I heard some Records from the Revolution Renaissance Album (recordings with the orginal members, like Timo, Jörg, Jens, Lauri etc.)

What I have to say is that Timo Tolkki can't replace the old members by some else. I was really sad about the news that Stratovarius would end, and I don't like the new Records on the "New Era" album.

But when I'm looking this news there, I'm really sursprised and by my opinion, the music will be something better.

I can't wait buying the new album when it will be released.

yes this is even better than the formatation of the band itself and the whole history of it from the songwriting to the performances. other from that we have great new energy in here and great chemistry that will produce some great meaningful work. a new team with new songs and new energy, lots of new coming to you
