By the way, what teams are everyone supporting? Obviously their national teams... but who else?

Since neither Cyprus () nor Colombia are in the World Cup this year, these are mine, in order of preference:

Greece (as a matter of default, since their our closest 'relatives', not expecting any great things but Rehaagel is a master coach so we'll see what happens)

Spain (the Colombian side of my family are mostly of Spanish descent from Barcelona, so similar deal, expecting great things, I love the way they play and follow the careers of their key players closely)

England (it's basically my second home, and I'm very familiar with all the players and the team in general. Capello has done a good job so far, let's see what this lot will be like against the toughest competition)

Argentina (for the thrill factor, they'll either do very well or crash and burn spectacularly, and Messi is one of my favourite players and I really like Carols Tevez, Maxi Rodriguez and Xavier Mascherano as well, Maradona will definitely prove to be a colourful character at the World Cup)

Germany (also have German roots, plus I like their no-nonsense style, they'll put on a solid show as always)

Mexico (really like their style)

I'm interested to see how Holland do as well. They're a team to watch, a lot of their key players are hitting their peak at the right time. Robben, Sneijder and Van Persie have been nothing short of spectacular this season, Seedorf has been great too, and Babel can be terrific when he's not being a whiny little bitch.

I'm curious to see how Ivory Coast and Japan are pretty interesting to follow as well, Nakamura is one of the best in the game.

Mine of course: Argentina. But in case we fail at this (which I'm pretty confident we will; and no, I'm not a negative person but a realistic one) I'll go for England, their team is quite solid and I like their style. Today at 14:00 our coach Maradona is giving the final list, leaving out 7 players out of 30; I just hope he does the things right :?

Palermo is fresh meat for the WC, although he should have been paired up with Palacios. Awesome duet. 8)

Me too, especially Ivory Coast. So I am supporting them :D I also like Spain, Germany, Holland and Paraguay.

Man, it would be PERFECT if an African team could win it this year. Ivory Coast have a lot of talent, and led by such a lethal striker as Didier Drogba... they're a tough team for sure. If they can make it out of the Group of Death (by denying either Brazil or Portugal) I wouldn't want to bet against them making the semis at least. Sven Goran Eriksson is a great coach, and I guess that would mean that all Swedish people should be supporting IC :D

...now that's an advert

I like how Ronaldinho is one of the big stars and Dunga didn't even select him for the team

Not entirely relevant but...

Champions League Final tonight! :D :D :D

Last big football match before the party begins. I think Inter are going to take it.

Never any doubt. Not a particularly attractive display from Inter, Bayern played much 'nicer' football and had far more possession, but there you go. Mourinho did it.

Diego Milito is incredible, he's going to do a lot of damage at the World Cup!
Same for Arjen Robben, he was outstanding as well.

Yea, I wanted Bayern to win! But I gotta admit that the second goal was awesome, pure skill there.

People think because Ronaldinho, Adriano, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos aren't in the brazilian's selection team that this team is weakness... That's where you all wrong..When Brazil has the complete favourite team the chance of this fail is too big... The pression is to high...But now we have the dunga's style that shows to be very controll of the situation and he make it with iron force... However I never see England has a good team..They always suck...The players are with no "ginga", something like very limmited... And Spain, Oh Spain...Never get on the world cup and never will... Here in brazil we said that the Spain always "amarela" in world cups...For me, real teams that can defeat brazil are only this: Argentina and France......Only that ones..

But I believe that Brazil will win that one again.. If not, 2014 we will win with no chance to the others...So, I count with 7th championships in late 2014... Run behind world....Run behind....

Well, that is true (the thing about Brazil being the best national team in history and all that things). But this:
Oh Spain...Never get on the world cup and never will...
 never will? How do you know that? WOW!

That frase should be say to England that only win with a stolen goal of Hurst called "Ghost Goal"... Brazil only lose for itself if we play with France and Argentina... Today I read in a site a person that said that there's no beauty in brazilian soccer team... Ah come on... The magic futebol dies in 1970 with the greatest team ever in the human race... After this, we just had teams like Germany and Italy wons the cups... Ah an it's history speaks itselfs... In 94' the Brazilian team was in the same critics as they are now, with no beauty futebol, no brilliant players... Yeah but after 24 years we won... Was not the brillant, beauty futebol of 82 that's won... And Dunga raise the trophy...

And Neon Vomit, give me a break...If I look for the 5th championships that we won, in the wikipedia it's going to give me a lot of work... Ah and the runaways over the greaters englands selections too...

I wasn't doubting their record. They've done great things.

I'm just saying that you can't say such things for sure, and 1950 was a big sign of that :D They even made the medals and wrote a song for the victory that never came... it was a good lesson. Taking things like that for granted never works out.

No one would bet on Italy to win it last time. You never know what to expect!
