ALONG CAME A SPIDER-Good movie!
But, the book was beter! The movie changed ALOT from the book!
In the book, the psycho lady is given lethal injection, and she&the main character guy have a love affair. There are many differences between book&movie....I was kinda disappointed.
But, Morgan Freeman is a good actor--especially in DEEP IMPACT as the first black President.

The Holy Grail, thought of it while reading the 'if you can post here...' thread. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first time I saw it, but it was still funny as hell.

Faling Down - great, fantastic cast from Michael Dougles and really good film

The Last Samurai - a naive, simple, predictable movie. It wasn't that bad at all, but it's nothing speciall, a very typical Holywood production.

I watched a film called "Basic" the other day and it was fooking awesome, starring John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson.

Basically it starts with these guys getting dropped off in the jungle for a training programme using live ammo. When the pickup crew arrive they see them shooting at each other. Basically they have to find out what the hell went on in there. Its great.

Kill Bill - both volumes - great Tarantino movies, as great and classic as Pulp Fiction ... And something more - Uma Thurman is the most beautiful woman alive ...

The Terminal. It was actually pretty good though. I wasn't really expecting much when I went to see it with a friend, but it turns out I actually liked it.

Well, I Robot came out last week. It was ok, but the plot line kind of got me lost.

oh, and my g-friend and I rented Legally Blonde 2. Needless to say, my brain stopped functioning for 27 hrs.

I just went to dee Spiderman2, it totally sucked big time. So much hollywood crap about "I'm Spiderman, no I'm not" "I wanna be with Mary Jane, but I cant". Blaablaaablaa....

Watched Gattaca yesterday... Nice sci-fi movie about a guy who despite not being genetically modified from birth (and thereby perfect) tries to infiltrate a space travel training center to realize his dream.

I watch craploads of movies, but here's a few I've seen recently.

Spider-Man 2 - quite the improvment on the first movie, which I didn't think was that bad either. A bit long, but the action sequences were spectacular...

Ladykillers - Pretty funny movie from the usually reliable Coen brothers.

LA Takedown - Michael Mann's TV movie that he would later remake as the masterpiece Heat. The plot is nearly identical, although Takedown is shorter (90 minutes vs. Heat's 2.5 hours). Pretty good movie, even for being a TV movie.

Marathon Man - 70s thriller starring Dustin Hoffman, Laurence Olivier and Roy Scheider. Very...uh...thrilling movie.

Bulletproof Monk - Matrix rip-off starring Chown Yun Fat, who just can't make a good movie in America, it seems. Some good action scenes, but that's about it.

Romeo Must Die - Now Jet Li, on the other hand, has made a few good flicks in America. This one being one of them.

Being John Malkovich - Because it's a movie you can watch many times

Chronicles of Riddick - I digged the first movie, Pitch Black, but this sequel is just...blah. Underdeveloped story, not as violent nor as entertaining as PB.

Gattaca rules, btw.

Watched the original version of Ladykillers yesterday which is pretty nice. Cant compare it to the new version though, as i havent seen it (yet).

Today i saw a John Wayne movie.. i think its called The searchers or something like that in english. That one was quite good i think, although not really surprising

about Spiderman: I never liked the character as a comic... i didnt like the first movie, and i wont see the second one.
I am pretty bored with all those standard Hollywood (action-) movies over the last years....

And i think i need to see 2001 again...

I'm going to see School of Rock on DVD next week. One of my friends said it was pretty funny. If it isn't, I'll recommend him something bad in return, like:

"You know what you should watch, man: Thelma and Louise, no really, that's a great film..."

Either that or Steel Magnolias...

I just bought (for 9.99 ) and watched the "Spaceballs" DVD. It's getting old but it still has its very funny moments.
"May the Shwartz be with you"

Spaceballs never gets old, it's a timeless classic of spoof comedies

Dodgeball - Not that great of a movie but still provided for a mild laugh. Eh, I guess I would give it a B- grade.

Legally Blonde 1 - I thought it would be incredibely stupid. It was better than i thought. But damn, not by much. I would give it a D.

School of Rock - Real fun movie

Spiderman 1 - Also pretty fun, but not as good as the second.

Van Helsing - unbelievably idiotic movie, no story, no acting, no sense whatsoever. In fact it simply pains to see this movie, it makes braincells to commit mass suicide. God, what have they been smoking on the sets?

So true. As i really like older horror literature i just can say that i felt really disgusted while watching this movie

mleh what do you expect from Hollywood. I liked the first film, but the second is waaaaaaaay better. Plus it has Alfred Molina in it, you cant go wrong with Alfred Molina. Apart from that it has fucking Kirsten Dunst in it! I FUCKING HATE KIRSTEN DUNST!!!

I liked the second film. I mean they've completely fucked up the last 50 odd years of Spiderman history already but mleh, like i say what can you expect from hollywood. Plus the special effects were top notch and Alfred Molina was outstanding as always

Oh yeah I watched thunderbirds the other week. Its mindless entertainment, not too bad. not recommded for hardcore fans though. Alan Tracy is portrayed as a proper TWAT!


Oh yeah and Shrek 2. AWESOME FILM! I mean there were some midly annoying bits (like the fairy godmother, as much as i love jennifer saunders) but overall it was quality, anyone who has a cat will understand why Puss in boots is so funny.

Spider-man 2 -> a little boring, it's all about him and his girlfriend... but the fights with Doc Ock are good. Anyway, I was hoping more.
Hellboy -> that's good! i didn't know the comics.
I, Robot -> OMG!!! And think that Asimov wrote that in 1950!
City Of God (Cidade de Deus) -> Very impressive.
Scary Movie 3 -> once again, another very funny movie.
Freddy X Jason -> also, very funny.
Tears Of The Sun -> any similarity with "die hard" is not just coincidence.

I thought Scary Movie 3 was awful

Oh yeah I watched around the world in 80 days as well, that was pretty cool I really enjoyed it

I also saw A Time Of The Gypsies, an Emir Kusturica movie - absolutely fantastic movie, very beautiful and very emotional. In general, all his movies are great, Kusturica has his own style, he manages to mix drama and comedy perfectly ...

Unfortunately (or fortunately, I haven't seen the movie yet so I don't know), he didn't write that in 1950, he didn't write it at all...
Someone (20th Century Fox?) bought the rights to "I, Robot" and decided to use elements (like the three laws of robotics and the character of Susan Calvin) from the short story collection in another screenplay, written by someone else. Which means that Isaac Asimov's name in the credits is little more than a marketing ploy to get in the "geeks" .
Which is OK, this is Hollywood after all. It's certainly not the first time it has happened. But for those of us who have Isaac Asimov as their favourite author it's a bit disheartening to see :/
Although I don't think a movie based on Asimov's more famous works (The Foundation series), I'd rather see a miniseries...
