Stratovarius Community

It just seems Jari loves his wife very, very much.
And true love, which lasts over 5 minutes, in the world of musicians is kind of rare these days.

I think I might be right on that part.

People might hate me here, but I am pretty sure the Stratovarius soap opera of last year was just the beginning, and that Tolkki's health is doing bad again. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Oh how I hate when people has nothing to do and post stupid things... Jari left the band and It's a fucking sad fact. Dot. No marketing, no mental states, no star syndrom, no bullshit... he has his personal issues and that's it. It happens in 80% of the bands, someone leaves.

I'm pretty sad about Jari leaving the band... I'd hate seeing someone else playin' in his place. But anyway, I'll love Stratovarius forever.

My orginal post was actually not about Jari's leaving, but about Tolkki in the finnish tabloids.
I only copy-pasted it from a topic in Kotipelto's forum in which I talked about the tabloid thing, that might be the reason why people here mistunderstood what I said.

I didn't have time to go through all these posts, but have they found a new bassist yet?

Anyway, it sucks to hear that Jari is gone. He was a major part of Strato for many years. But I'm sure the band will "Just Carry On" and find a suitable replacement. Whoever it is, I'm sure he/she will be the best *person* for Stratovarius.

Lauri Porra is offically next bassist of Stratovarius.

Well I want to know whether or not he is planning to still do the tour or whether it will be someone else.....like is he already gone or on his way out

though it seems quite obvious, that jari is not in the band anymore - I won't believe anything until they set an official statement on strato.com. and there's still no statement...

Well, not necessarily. If he wrote "I've formed a new band called the Jari Kainulainen Project, for which I have imported five genetically engineered musicians trained at Julliard", I'd be inclined to agree. But if this new band of his is him hooking up with a couple of old friends, looking to play some metal but with a less hectic touring schedule than Stratovarius, leaving to spend more time with his family sounds perfectly reasonable...
But that's all speculation on my part. And on everyone else's part as well, as far as I can gather.


I'll say the same thing I said when Kotipelto and Jörg was out of the band: I'm not particularly concerned with who's in the band, I care about the music first and foremost.
If Stratovarius continue to produce music I like, I will continue to purchase their albums. If not, I won't.
Likewise, if I like what I hear from Jari's future musical output, I'll spend some of my cash on that. If not, I won't.

Jari is my biggest hero as a bassplayer, he's irreplacable! He's the reason I play a 6string bass, and one of my biggest inspirations and influences on my style of playing fuck fuck fuck

But I guess if he has personal reasons on leaving we have to accept them.

Goodbye Jari, I'll keep up with whatever you do in the future since you're the best fucking bassist in metal, period I'm just very glad I had the chance to see you live in London in 2003.

Please cut the Drama everything is going to be just fine. I think this band can survive anything. I think they have learned some lessons from the past. Hopefully, the future is good for them all.
