Question to Jens

Post by Verdades Parias » Fri Nov 28, 2008 10:10 pm

Hey Jens, I want to ask you about your participation in the BARILARI album in 2003. I'm Argentinian, and Adrián Barilari is the best singer that we have, I was extremely proud of him. I could not believe that you not only played on that album, but also composed the song "Lenguas de fuego" (Raindrops of fire). So how was that?

It was nice! We did a lot of it using tapes. I remember doing a lot of the basic keys in the fall of 2001. Much of my keyboard gear was stuck in a storage locker in lower manhattan.. they closed off all the streets there for quite some weeks after september 11. So I could add "terrorist attack" to my long list of excuses I have had for delivering parts late

It was initially actually Marcelo Cabuli's idea, whom I have known and worked with a long time (he's Tarja's husband now)

Before the actual album came together, I also remember playing some keyboard stuff for that "la leyenda del hada y el mago" song .. I forget what the osng was used for, but I drove around noon from the Sweden Rock festival to my brother's place in Skåne, recorded the keys, dropped a DA-88 tape in the mail to Joensuu (I think it was), and drove back later that day..

If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done!

Hey that renminds me .. it IS the last minute, one day 20 hours 25 minutes to mix, and I need to render some keyboards instead of farting around in the stratoforum ..
