Hills Have Eyes. Found it boring. But the riffs and actually the whole melody line is fucking awesome @_@

Re: Difficult question: The worst strato song(s) for you

Thin Ice. Never got its psychedelic feel. Too artistic? The actual music tracks are all better. I like this thing in, say, Aphrodite's Child, but I think it's really off-the-mark in a Strato album. Also, Magic Carpet Ride is a watered-down version from Rainbow - Gates of Babylon, in my opinion. Not ...

Re: When Jens is sleeping, he plays this...

Yeah, he probably COULD play this in his sleep! (You just HAD to put that thought in my head--I'm wanting to watch him sleep now! ) Speaking of fingers, I think Jens should have each one of his fingers insured by Lloyd's Of London for a million dollars, and then a million dollars for each han...

Re: How good Dreamspace is?

The most obscure, deepest and possibly least plastic of all the Strato albums. Just a great, personal landscape. And Tolkki's ambition, lungs and voice are so huge - back then he was, like, THE most anxious metal vocalist I ever heard. Somehow, I've never gotten the psychedelia in Thin Ice... I like...

Re: Confirmed Stratovarius shows

Four more days to life's completion. The sold-out show in Tampere on 14th also marks the end of my studying-like-a-madman,-24/7-for-two-months movement and the beginning of my long-mourned Christmas holidays. What would be a better present than seeing my two favorite bands of all time that day? Noth...

Re: Has Malmsteen copy BlackDiamond in his new album Relentless?

Andall his stuff has always been very neoclassical, so that the classical influences really show. It would be nice to see some results of a research which shows whatever Yngwie has plagiarized or loaned, whether by accident or not. I think there might be hundreds of compositions involved. :)

Re: Has Malmsteen copy BlackDiamond in his new album Relentless?

Well, I'd say that more than Black Diamond, the particular 4:50 - 5:18 part modifies the main finger exercise melody of this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XlNbQv_Rg4. I don't even know from which work it is originally; I take from one of Salieri's. :) <e> lol, It's from Bach's Toccata and Fugue a...

When you see that Helloween do not play songs such as: A tale that wasnt right. Forever and One. In the middle of a heartbeat. Light the Universe. And so on... You really notice that they had a really long career! You also notice they're a metal band, and they play only 0-2 ballads every gig. :) I'...

Too bad that, with guitarists, there seems to be a continuation looking something like this. |-------------------------| technique | feeling As a listener, I'm generally very much to the right in this case. :P There are very skilled guitarists in nearly every metal band. One might actually think that Tolkki hasn't had any new ideas for songs in years, and that Stratovarius are still going strong. Oh well... I think Andi looks like he does on High Live. As if he's lost weight as well since I saw him the last time!

Those arena lights really do a favor for Andi's awesome undereye bags. :D I've kinda always gotten horror movie vibes - which is not a bad thing in Helloween's case. :)

Godly Thing (That Deserves Its Own Topic?)

Whoever came up with the idea of ending Destiny with Visions's ending on Polaris tour? I almost choked in the gig, realizing it immediately. It was like playing these two most important, best, majestic, huge, grandiose, all-out greatest pieces of music for me, in a row or something. Reliving the gat...
