Re: SonataArctica - Stones Grow Her Name (new album)

The new album turned out pretty great I think. I find it pretty strange that they chose the worst song from the album to be the first single, but at least I listened to the whole thing with lowered expectations. :Đ Anyway, it sounds like a cross between Unia and Reckoning Day to my ears, a chan...

Re: The Circle Of Silence thread

Their riffing is a bit too agressive for my taste. Good stuff, though!

The Blackened Halo is an awful album title, by the way, if you consider the very similarly titled Kamelot album. :x

Well progressive music in general has become a big thing for me over the last few years.
And my collection keeps expanding and expanding...
Good to hear! I'm a huge fan of prog, so would you mind tossing a few favorites my way?:>

Re: Arjen Anthony Lucassen's Lost In The New Real.

After a few listens, I must say that the album is great, pretty much what I expected.

@mayhem-for-all: Yeah, he is pretty high on my list too (if I had to rank current musicians, both he and Jens would be in the top5). And it seems like you really got into neo-prog, am I right?:Đ

Read Episode and Dreamspace so far. I'd have probably given them somewhat lower ratings, but well written nonetheless. Thanks for posting this. :>

Oh by the way, I couldn't help noticing that your last name is Nagy. Hungarian origins?

It was.. alright. Too many "weird" songs on it, not enough interesting moments. The long one is really bad with the second part too.
Not even the best release of the month - the Theocracy album was amazing.

Sound interesting so far. The beautiful and simple stuff worries me a little, though - after their previous albums I think they would consider slightly symphonic poppy rock as such.

Re: Difficult question: The worst strato song(s) for you

Full Moon is nowhere near my favorite, but it's got the same vibe as the whole Dreamspace album, which I like. The S/T is not as bad as most people say it is, but Maniac Dance in comparison to songs like Back to Madness.

It's much more with bass communion, no man, and some of the blackfield.
Think 60s psychedelia with king crimson jazz prog and ambient influence.
That.. sounds interesting. Will listen to it later today.

Will check when it's up somewhere else - not planning on ruining my already shitty ratio on what with this. SW tends to be somewhat boring anyway. I got in early enough that I actually helped my ratio by seeding early With my 0.5 up speed, I have pretty much no chance of getting anything out of a n...

Why not? That would be cool. They seem to be a very talented family. But, how much younger is he, isn't Matias just 19 or so?
