What a great fucking movie. Not from an acting or storyline point of view, by any means, but holy shit you gotta see this to believe it! The death scenes are some of the best I've ever seen. I definitely recommend this movie!

Yes, it was quite good but the first part was funnier than the second part.

Daredevil is a terrible Film!
I wasn't a huge fan of the comics, but they totally made a mockery of what Daredevil was supposed to be. Ben Affleck? COME ON!

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - once again, and again I loved it. Brilliant.
Desperado - There's lot of bullshit as usuall in that kind of films, but as action was set in quite a specific place and it was well directed I did enjoy it.

Some:
The Ring
I think everybodys knows it, i have never seen it before. I think its not that thrilling like many told me, because many of the "shocks" are predictable. But the film is ok.

Funny. I did not expect that.
And something else.. dont remember

Last week I saw T3 and Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life!! Two good movies IMHO, but one time is enough, I wouldn't go again!
Yesterday I watched "The Ring" on DVD.

Re: Re: Re: Recently seen movies
Indeed, The Matrix Reloaded was a huge disappointment, especially in comparison to the inspired first part. It seemed to rely solely on flash and big visual effects. The first two parts of The Lord of the Rings were not so bad in my opinion, though, but I hope Peter Jackson will fix some of the glitches and omissions when the complete trilogy is released on DVD (and of course such a box is going to be released). I agree with you, Cliff, in the sense that the popular notion that newer films are automatically better films is ludicrous. Good films are made in every era, so I'd much rather watch A Clockwork Orange for the tenth time than Scream 3. However, good films were made in the eighties and nineties, too. Just think of Platoon, Wall Street or E.T. in the eighties and Fight Club, The Silence of the Lambs, Pulp Fiction and Trainspotting in the nineties. Furthermore, we are only focussing on Hollywood here, which has become too mercantile an environment for genuine artistry to flourish. Perhaps European cinema could alter this harmful monopoly in the future...cliff wrote:
LOLITA - the version directed by Kubrick.
Very good movie IMO.
It makes me realize that most of the 50's-60's-70's movies (and even 30's + 40's) are much better than all the modern crap movies ala Matrix or Lord Of The Rings, who are much a demonstration of visual effects that what real cinema is meant to be....Anyway

Death To Smoochy - great and crazy dark comedy about world of children TV shows. Seeing Edward Norton in pink rhino suit after seeing him playing crazy man in Fight Club and nazi in American History X is one of the many reasons to see this movie.
Mothman Prophecies - dark and weird movie, not scary, just weird ... At first it looks like a collection of random images which start to make sence only in the end. Recommended to all who love weird movies ...
Babylon 5, first season - long time passed since I saw B5 and I forgot how great is it.

Freddy vs Jason - stupid movie, no plot, no acting, but funny
The end suggests a sequel named Jason and Freddy's Head vs Godzilla ...

Fear Dot Come - wow, I wasted 90 minutes of my life watching this SHIT. Everything is done wrong in this movie. It's boring as hell, repetetive, stupid, naive, with bad screenplay, bad directory, bad acting, flat characters, not scarry, not funny either. It's just shit. Don't watch it unless... no, just don't watch it. Go for a walk.

Wuthering Heights
I cried trough the movie. It was so sad.
And Ralph Fiennes was amazing.
I never scare any movies (and that´s pity) but AFTER this movie I couldn´t sleep ´cause I saw people all around me (well I see them every night, but I don´t scare, then)

Re: Recently seen movies
FALLING DOWN.
I just saw this movie, and I can't get it out of my head. It kicks ass. Michael Douglas is fantastic, as usual.
"I'm an American. You're a sick asshole. I'm not a vigilante. I'm going home to my daughter's birthday. If everyone stays out of my way, no one will get hurt."
The guitar dives when he is "falling down" (losing it) are great. Douglas really resembles the "patient man" who is pushed to his limit.
"Gravity... I'll fall down."
And the ending, the showdown OWNS. I cannot get this movie out of my head. Now I have to buy it.

Re: Recently seen movies
Today I watched "Zetouichi"
film by Takeshi Kitano.
It is so cool
Japanese sword fight...
This is Samurai movie but present thing has also incorporated.
"Zatouichi" is remake movie.
But Takeshi's Zatouichi completely differ from old Zatouishi.
And his movie is always difficult to understand the content.
But I have much fun!
If you will see his movie,
you obediently of your feeling , without consider
will be good.
Takeshi is so cute , funny , shy , clever

Falling Down is one of my favourite films. And there is an Iron Maiden song about the film (Man On The Edge) But you all knew that anyway. So why did I bring it up? I don't know. I'm going to stop typing now. Bye.Lucid Faia wrote:
