Too early to say what I think of it. Still no match for the first one, though.

Equlibrium is great, although still no match for it's greatest inspiration...
Equilibrium's greatest inspiration was Bradbury's "451 Farengheit" - one of my favorite books.

Storywise yeah, stylistically it was all Matrix.

I hear they're making a new movie of Fahrenheit 451 (they made one in 1966 already), that will be interesting to see.

Any Bradbury's story would be interesting to see. I'd like to see a Martian Chronicles transferred to movie format.

On the other way Hollywood tried to make Solaris movie and the result wasn't that impressive ...

I've seen Matrix Revolutions yesterday and I must say I liked it a lot. Much better than Reloaded (even though I liked this one too). I liked the ending, best I can think of, and it had incredible CGI.

Equilibrium was good, I saw it some time ago. Though I'd like to read the book, I have a feeling it could be better, with more impact on that idea of 'feelingsless' mind.

Throw Mama From the Train :D
In the beginning it seems that a known face beyond having fun,
Which is why you write music in the first place,
Always moving, defining, and pushing forward the art that once created,
Looking to the right time to share it,
And then the headaches of criticism,
Senior advisors advising people above,
Twisting, distorting that which we love,
And never ending problems with money,
Holding you back,
Preventing progress,
I thought you only started 'cause it was fun.

The concept is fascinating of course--but, as a woman myself, its not appealing!
Fascinating, and appealing are two diferent words with 2 diferent meanings!

For example, death itself fascinates me because no one knows whats on the other side/what awaits us all---yet, death does not appeal to me because I'll be leaving my family, friends, and my life behind on this particular cosmic plane----
In other words, a person can be FASCINATED by an idea, yet, at the same time the actuality of the idea manifesting itself in reality is repulsive.
Another example is the KKK--their sick beliefs fascinate me-but they sure as Hell don't appeal to me. The same goes for Satanists, and other groups.
I hope that cleared that issue up-if not, sorry. :buh: :err:
Hey Beg I forgot to mention that the Book of Ninth Gate movie also have figures that reminds me a lot the Tarot Cards !
I could identify some figures as the Tarot cards like: The Hanged man, The Ermit, The Fool, The Wheel of Fortune, The Tower, & The Star (That is the 9th Gate figure).
What U think about that !?

Weird, LOE, very weird! I have a set of Tarot cards but I never have used them--there is so much superstition&mystery that surrounds Tarot Cards. And yes, I did notice that! I wonder if there really is a 9th Gate book ???

Thee is the Necronomicon, which claims to be able to raise the dead, but I have heard that bok is really dangeous to use--people who have read it usualy have all sorts of bad luck!
And, On Hellraiser movie, there really is a Chinese puzzlebox like that, but-LOL-it does not summon demons from Hell! :D

The reason I got on this topic was to discuss the DVD 3-pack of Indiana Jones movies-all 3 DVDs in 1 set! Pretty expensive, though-about $50.00 at Wal-mart-but, I think its worth it, and I bet the price goes down a little before X-Mas! :)
My son teased me last week and said that if I be good he might save up and get it for me for a gift! Yeah, right!

No, there is no "Ninth Gate" book except for maybe the fiction novel the movie was based on.

The Tarot symbology is archetypal and is found is many many different applications in both the occult and mundane worlds, including christianity. If you're not trained what to look for, you don't see it unless someone points it out. The tarot is a textbook, not a parlour divination game. The divination is for New Agers. I received my training over a period of 4 years from an order called the Builders of the Adytum. Not once in that 4 years was I taught to tell fortunes with the cards. I know the symbology like the back of my hand though. I collect tarot decks for their artistic value - I am interested in different artists' interpretation of the symbology.

The Necronomicon - ahh yes.....that black paperback book. It's real alright but the sad thing about it is that the wannabes who buy it think they've really got something there when in fact all that they have is about one fourth of the total grimoire and NO instructions how to control or release what they invoke. Very irresponsible of the publisher to even publish such a book.

anyway, back to the movies..........

I just finnished watching Dreamcatcher, gosh what a shit. Worst film based on King's novel I have ever watched. Stupid, predictable with bad cast. Two hours wasted. Shit.

Another weird movie is FALLEN,starring Denzel Washington. Its a good movie,IMO!
A serial killer is possessed by the demon/fallen Angel AZAZEL. Before the killer is executed he passes the demon to Denzel through touch. And this demon is pased from peson to person inthe whole city, and the peple become killes if the demon stays in them long enough. If not, the possessers die themslves.

I just got through reading about AZAZEL, who was the leader of a group of falen angels thrown out of Heaven for not respecting Adam. Azazel becomes a demon of the wilderness--the orginal "scapegoat" of Jewish tradition. AZAZEL is a demon of war, and Hell itself.
After banishment from Heaven, Azazel and the ones banished with him, fornicated with mortal women. Azazel is also the demon of vanity, and arrogance. Leviticus 16:8 speaks of Azazel....

Anyway, FALLEN is a weird, compelling movie. I liked it very much--
I can see the symbolism---the Serial killer claimed to be innocent--so, he was the "scapegoat"--Azazel is said to be a demon "scapegoat'....

My son&I just got through watching T3, and it was a good movie! It ended sadly, but inevitably. I wonder if it will be a T4? Or how about a TV series, about life after the Bomb?
Great special efects!

Hey I never watch this movie !
The name is "Fallen" ?
The funny is that Iron Maiden have a song called the Fallen Angel & talk about Azazel, maybe the inspiration for that song was from this movie 'cause they always make music inspired in History, book or movies !
Is cool ! ;)

I've seen this movie - a bit weird but worth watching IMO.

I've seen Matrix Revolutions today - tired, boring, empty movie. There are some heavy CGIed scenes but nothing worth wasting your money on. And I didn't even started to talk about the "dialogs" ... Just one of them, for example:

Trinity: Neo, are you scared?
Neo: Yes.
T: I'm so scared it took me 10 minutes to lace my boot.

Jackie Brown - It was a good solid movie, nice spent 2h. But I expected something better from Tarantino. You watch it and forget it a couple of hours later. Nothing I would like to see again.

Avalon - extremely weird movie about some computer war game. Amazing music, amazing visual stuff, good acting. Recommended.

Matrix Revolutions - waste of time. Soap opera meets Pearl Harbor with addition of pointless and tiring CGI. Avoid at all costs.

XXX - Bond clone, but funny and with great stunts. The bad thing is that it's totally predictable - after first 15 minutes of the movie you can figure out every story twist ... Recommended if you don't have anything better to do with your spare time.

Matrix-Reloaded. I bought the DVD used from a video store the other day for $9.99! Lucky Day!
Well, I liked the first Matrix better, and Reloaded ended weird--so, I'l have to rent the 3rd part to know the real ending. :(
