Because if they do so, there'll be a lot of people who'll come here and say "you're judging, you can't do that, blablabla" and stuff like that.

then what's the use of discussing, I wonder, though it's evident that confrontation means nothing to a lot of people.

I just hope that Kotipelto understands that Tolkki didn't behave the way he did because he was an asshole but because he suffered from a mental illness. This is not easy because you can't turn back the time and so on but Kotipelto really should think to forget what has happened.
Just remember the lyrics of "A million lightyears away..."
Your touching a good point here, that much of Timo's actions and such towards Koti might have been caused by his mental illness. But we must also remember that the thing between them has been going on for a while...like Koti not getting many of his own-made songs on the albums, and he thinking Tolkki "bossing" too much. But it seems as by Tolkki's statement, that he finally has manage to realize and accept that he has an mental illness, and aknowledging that is a great step towards a better day...anyone agree? If u know the problem, its easier to look for a solution, that is a general thing;)

Mmmm.....that's why this is called "Stratovarius discussion" nah, but everyone can say what they think, i mean, just say it respectfully, like Lapazeus said, a bad quotation from me again, i think there were 2 ways of taking that, 1-get angry and start a war and get banned from the forum or 2- Take it easily, laugh a lot and continue, everything will pass in this life, so i think it's useless to be angry all the time and for everything

Cheers! :)

But this already happen here, I mean...everybody is showing their opinions, but some people just don't accept it... when they say "you're judging", in fact they're are the ones who are really judging and disrespecting other people opinions.
I'm against flame wars that will lead in no where, but discussing a subject in a respectfull way is a healthy thing to me. :)

Hm, but you have to admit that Kotipelto isn't such a good songwriter as Tolkki is. Listen to his two albums. They are quite nice and Koti has the possibility to get a good songwriter with a little more practice, but at the moment I don't think that his songs are good enough to meet the high stratovarius quality standards.
Anyway, Katriina and Kotipleot singing in duet could be cool ;)

Well, I am that kind of a fan you mentioned. I confess that I have not been able to be objective and have favoured Kotipelto in the beginning.

However, for me it is easy to accept the fact that Tolkki wants Kotipelto back. It is wise move and - what is even more important - leaves Tolkki free options to consider his own destiny. If Kotipelto refuses to join the band, Tolkki will survive. He really is a survivor (like there could be someone who hadn't noticed that already)

What I really can't uderstand is why most of the people that 3-4 months ago were crazy against Tolkki for having kicked out Kotipelto now are flaming him for trying to do what they "wanted". I've read posts of all kind on other boards, with people judging Tolkki like they knew him personally, saying "Koti don't come back for he's a liar and always will be" or "such a man should not be trusted, he's never been sincere" and bla bla bla.

I don't know why people see bad news in that. If Koti and Tolkki cant solve their problem its better break up. Then Stratovarius would leave on a good note. And Tolkki could do his project with MissK under another name. That's the greatest thing that could ever happen to Stratovarius. Stratovarius without Koti can't be Stratovarius even if Tolkki writes songs. We all know that! Tolkki does too.

I have to admit that Stratovarius are only the "dream team" : JJJTT ! I was quite optimistic even about Miss K and the new-era albums, but if Tolkki is the one to regret his own choice, then, I guess, PopKiller featuring Miss.K is a piece of shit-music... The very most worring things to me weren't Katriina or Anders, it was the style, described as Pantera, melodic but with no-double bass drums, and the values: "it's time to forget about love and peace, it's time for blood and to kick some serious ass, and Popkiller will do that"!! What the fuck is this shit? Words from the same person that wrote masterpieces like Episode and Visions, based on "good values and positive attitude"... It sounded strange to me, though hundreads of you all were just blindly following his path saying "ok with blood, all right with Pantera style, let's kick asses!!"...

Now what's going on is the feed-back of his mistakes and of his illness, I even think that Tolkki cannot live normally without Kotipelto support and friendship... And I hope that Kotipelto will put his divine hand to let the "dream team" shine for us again..

@Luca&Speed of Light=Great posts! I think you two spoke for most of us. No, all we can feasibly do is wait, and hope for the best. A trite answer, but its true.
Either way, Tolkki is not going away....he will probably start a new band(maybe, eventually)and he wants to produce. MissK is rumored to have many projects offered to her as a result of this publicity so don't be suprised if another band snaps her up pretty soon!
Koti's solo career will do fine&I see him someday in the future frontman for an even more famous band!(Koti&Tolkki have the most beautiful male singing voices I've ever heard!)The 3 J's will find bands&projects of their own&do well, also. Although there will be tears when this group splits way on down the road, there won't be any worry because all 5 guys excell in the music field.
And, if anyone tells me in my sorrow,"Its just a rock band!" I swear I will jam my size 5 foot all the way up their ass!
Lets all hope for the best, but also be prepared somewhat for heartbreak.
I guess all of us have our own predictions, don't we?
"Your life is yours, and yours alone. Rise up and live it!"

The "publicity stunt" idea feels pretty stupid to me, and propably to anyone who has seen Stratovarius on stage. Tolkki really is not a person to push himself to the front line, instead he seems to like to be in the background. Which can also be found out from an interview in which Jens states that Tolkki hates to play solos. And, why a composer of his level would need publicity stunts...?

Should a guitar player that has a solo in almost EVERY song that he has written hate to play solos? Doesn't sound too true to me...

I think Tolkki plays a solo because that song needs a solo, if it doesn't need one, it's useless to make one, Walter Giardino said that he made songs to be songs, not as Yngwie that makes songs to play solos, i think Tolkki does the same, Forever doesn't has a solo and yet it's one of the best Stratosongs...who agrees?

eeeeh? And your point is? Who can say if a song "needs" a solo? Only the songwriter ofcourse as it is HIS very own song and IF a person includes a solo in almost every song like Tolkki does then I wouldnt say that he doesnt like solos.

And Forever... come on, it's a ballad. Let's discuss the majority of Stratovarius songs instead which are NOT ballads. Most of them has indeed fast solos.

Ok....of course only the songwriter knows if the song needs a solo, and i think tolkki includes solos in the songs 'cause it's a part of it! You don't have to like to play solos to make 'em, i think he likes 'em, but not for everything.

Ok...now..,if a fast song has a solo it's because the nature of the song, and to make every single part of the song to look better, c'mon, eagleheart is a great song, and it doesn't have an awesome solo, it's just exactly what fitted in the song, it's pretty melodic but it doesn't have a 1000000 mph solo, and dude...there a lot of solos of stratobalads that could make someone says "Holy shit! That's the most incredible thing i've ever heard" it's not a matter of technique, but feelings
