The classical solo in "Will the sun rise"

Hey Folks!

I always wondered, if the beautiful beginning of the solo in "Will the sun rise" is taken from a classical theme or piece of music. Recently I heard a classical piece on some radio channel with EXACTLY the same melody line!!! But they didn't tell how it's called or who wrote it.

Now: Can somebody of you help me with it? Do you know which composer wrote this part which Timo Tolkki used for "Will the sun rise"-solo? Thanx.

Of course! Bach is One of Tolkki's fav classic composers! Now I remember!

The beginning before the solo is played by both Timo and Jens (which you probably knew already). There is footage on 'Infinite Visions' where Jens plays his part of it in the studio.
And about the intro to Black Diamond, it's just something Tolkki came up with. I don't know if it was taken from somewhere.

Well, similar melody lines are often used in baroque music and you can find many classical pieces with the same kind of or similar melody pattern. (Bach,Paganini for example)

Almost every Ynwie Malmsteen album has a similar melody going at least a few seconds. I personally regard it as a some kind of an tribute to Tolkki's classical idols.

Maybe Tolkki get some inspiration from Vivaldi, too.
In Vivaldi´s songs for example in the famous "Four Seasons" you can hear a very fast playing.

Oh, and by the way: There are some more examples for Stratovarius using classic and baroque elements, e.g. in "why are we here", "twilight symphony", ... But hell, if the bands' name is STRATOVARIUS, which we all know is the mixture of Stradivari (violin) and Stratocaster (e-guitar), this is somehow clear, eh?
