Actually, from what I know, this automatic log of every channel has existed since maaaany years. People running IRC servers have the obligation to log everything in case.
So, beware of what stupid things you could say, because Big Brother is watching you

I saw on a 20/20 news segment that the FBI DOES monitor forums, discussion groups&chatrooms that young folks attend. They even have "plants" register on these things pretending to be a member to monitor or investigate stuff they feel is suspicious.

I feel spying, whether good or not, should be revealed. Big Brother IS looking down people's necks!
