So yeah, after doing their show here (in Toronto) last week, apparently two of the hired members of Satyricon were charged in a date rape case....

As an added crappy footnote, the people who were being quoted have no idea what they're talking about, metal-wise...

Let's hope it's not true.

Yeah, quite a bad thing if its true. I hope they get what they deserve in that case. But i have heard rumors that this girl was some notorious groupie or something like that. I´m not that sure if this story ist true, yet.

Anyway: That article is crap... Instead of telling how evil this guys may be (yet they were just session musicians) it would have been a nice idea to tell about the actual event... Standard rock-band bashing.

I doubt it's true. Ofcourse everything happened there, but that was free will. From what I heard this girl has been writing on several forums earlyer screaming rape from different artist, but now she went to the police. I wondered what she was expecting to do on the bus then. Study their stamp-collection?

One of guys who run biggest israeli metal webzine www.metalist.co.il talked with father of one of accused guitarists - he told that this girl chased Satyricon's tour bus after the show, eventually got there, first she offered her services to Joey Jordison (their tour drummer), he told her to go away so she went to two guitarists who agreed an slept with her ... She's a slut and they are two desperate losers, she was stupid enough to offer herself and they were stupid enough to agree, so both parties got what they deserved ...

When I went to Amon Amarth's tourbus to interview them... They just told me I looked like a character out of one of their childhood stories.

(Apparently the minute a woman gets on a tour bus it is because she's a groupie whore who wishes to have sex with the band members. Presumably only men can engage in civilized discussions with members of bands they like.)
And even then, if the charges are true that the accused in question first drugged her up and then they had sex with her, it still counts as rape. No matter how scantily clad the alleged victim was.

Besides, what exactly do we know beyond what's been reported in the article? We got some unfounded rumours posted on some fora somewhere, and an interview with the father of one of the accused. I'm sorry, but neither counts as a particularly reliable source.

DUH!

Didn't Shurik say that this whore was chasing the band from town to town? Sounds like she had an ulterior motive wouldn't you say? And basically yes, most girls stupid enough to go on a band's tour bus goes on there with the intention to get laid so they can brag to their friends. Goddamn if I would step on a bus with a bunch of men I don't know. That would be highly inappropriate for me as a married woman. Whatever they have to say, they could say it standing on the pavement outside the bus because I surely would hate to have to put them in dire need of a dentist.

What the father had to say is basically the same defense used in just about every rape trial in the world: establishing that the woman was sexually promiscuous, and thus, according to some twisted logic, unrapeable.

That may well be the case. But we can't say for certain that's the case here. She may have been under the influence (okay, well, chances are she was) and thus her judgment was impaired, or she may in fact be incredibly stupid.
But stupidity isn't a crime. Rape is.

Sorry, misunderstood the word perjury. Yes that is a crime. But people lye under oath every day. Hopefully they will get the case up for a judge soon and get it over and done with!
