Stratovarius Members Past Bands
Post

I thought we could discuss the past bands that members were in.
I found a pic of MEIKONG DELTA, a band Jorg was in as "Gordon Perkins". They were quite popular it seems from this info page......

BTW, Jorg is the guy on the far right, in case you have not guessed!

Archangel Michael: That's OK, Bob, because He doesn't believe in you, either!~Legion~

I've got threee albums from Yngwie Malmsteen (Marching Out, Trilogy, Odyssey) featuring Jens and he did very good job on those. Riot In The Dungeons has one of the best solos he has ever played.
And I also have Black Hand Inn of Running Wild were Jörg also plays drums and he does good job as well.

Lots of people are interested in Filthy Asses, Kotipelto's former band.
Those lost singles from the only recording they did are a collectors item now.
The story of how they came up with that weird name is a quirk in itself!

I have played with Tuomo Lassila once, It was a jazz saxophone improvising thing (Tuomo played drums ofcourse). My sax teacher is a friend of Tuomo and we played some jazz, that must have been four or five years ago. I didn't know back then that Tuomo had played in Stratovarius, the whole band had ccome to my knowledge recently back then.
I haven't killed him yet sir,
But when I do, I shall have the stomach and the liver too,
And the floppily doppilies in their horrid glue.

That is so nice! You got to know Lassila as/for himself---not as a member of a band. I bet you will always remember that experience. Is he down-to-earth, and nice? On the "Against the Wind" video he seems to have a sense of humor, too!

He was a nice bloke indeed, he gave me some advice on improvisation. He's one of the few people Iv'e ever met who seems to be on a good mood most of the time.

Now, if only someone could give us a report on the guys who were in the band at the very beginning!
And what about Tolkki's previous band, ROAD BLOCK?
Does anyone know what happened way back that far?
Of course, some of you all were not even born then!!!
