WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE/DO IN FUTURE?

Certainly, I have asked myself this question lots of times during the last years. But the answer has been changed a lot also!
Now, rounding the 33 ( ouch!!) I would like to be in future someone who can say: " I was happy, I am happy, and sure I will happy, no matter whatever happens to me." Some dreams are failed, many of them, but no problem, I will continue fighting to try to get the rest of them.

It's funny you started this topic. I was thinking of starting one about what we wanted to be when we were kids, and how it changed, and about the environmental factors......ah!! Whatever. On with the topic at hand.

When i was a kid i used to go around telling people that i had ESP and that i was going to grow up to be a psychic. Turns out i was just fairly good at interpreting the body language of a population that underestimated me. As i got older i learned a thing or two about "psychics" anyway.

I have occupational desires that will not be gone into here. The internet is a bad place for talking about things like that.

For practical purposes, one of my majors is Lighting Design. I love the backstage theatre. Light and colour intrigues me.

But...i also have vague notions that line the periphery of my mind. Such as:

I want to be a composer.
I want to write a book.
I want to teach college.

And, of course...I want to be a rock star.

I have learned not to plan ahead no more than a year---so, with that in mind.......

I want to improve my eating habits, keep my job, make a few improvements on my house, keep my son out of trouble, save my tax refund in the bank, and buy StratoMilanDVD.........If I can do just that, I'll be satisfied!

I have so many options and I like them all: Musician, actor, floorball goaltender, tailor or bartender. Perhaps I'll try each and every one of them.

I dont think too much about the future, and actually i dont have many wishes or dreams to be fulfilled. I´ll just continue to make decisions in a way that seems to be acceptable.. I wouldnt necessarily say that i expect much too happen...

I assume that i might try to finish my studies in the next years. Who knows whats coming next?

I am starting back to college in January to finally persue a lifelong dream of mine - to become a board certified Master herbalist/Holistic Practitioner. There is only one college in the country that is internationally accredited to give this degree and after a year of liason back and forth with them, I have been accepted. Needless to say I am extremely happy because I have always known this was my true calling - to be a healer. My husband is totally supportive of this endeavour.

I always wanted to be a ......HISTORY/GEOGRAPHY TEACHER! Yes, sounds rare.... but it is true. I love this subjects. I am study at the university actually, the thing is that I can´t give enough time to studies, you know, life.... so my progress is really slow. but I will continue.

I'd love to be lead guitar player, and I'm definately investing in that perspective in case I get bored of college.

There is absolutely no reason why any of you should NOT achieve your goals. The only thing that would prevent you from doing so is yourself through bad choices in life and trying to shortcut your way through. Sure, there are obstacles, but they are mere indicators that the timing is not right, you never abandon your goals, you just wait for right timing and when that time does come, the way will be paved for you to easily attain those goals. For me, I got married and moved abroad with less than a year between me and a B.S. in Art. It was neither the right career choice, nor was it the right time for it and I knew that. I only took Art because there were no degree programmes available at the time for what I really wanted. Now, at 43, the time IS right and the degree programme IS available. And the way has been paved as I always knew it would be. I am at a point in life where I really do feel on top of the world on every level. I have no regrets, I am not at all uptight about my age, I am proud of the wisdom I've gained on the journey.
So my point, people, is to be patient because your dreams are never realised instantaneously, but if you want it bad enough, you stay focused in your mind and grow towards your goals, then the way will be paved. Nothing will come to you before its time. If you force it, it will not last. You do not want to get to 40 and have nothing but vain regret to dwell on. You want to be able to say hey man, this only the prelude to the beginning because it is. Most of the time people do not even realise exactly WHAT their dreams really are until they mature a bit and get past the frustrations of adolesence.

OK, sorry to waffle a bit, but I just wanted to share my observations/experience with you all.

you know, my brother is a History teacher, graduated last year, the funny thing is that 12 years ago he went to USA to study broadcasting, but that wasn't what he really wanted... so he quit and said I want to be a history teacher, we all tought "" ohh god he's stupid, what the heck he's doing?"

today he's a teacher and he's happy with his job... I've learned something about this, do what makes you happy

I'm really thinking about studying publicity or I want to be a sports journalist and then work in Argentina...

I don't know, I don't want the tradicional doctor, lawer, engineer tittle

but my dream is to be a fashion designer...

there are so many things I want to do in my life...

sing professionaly
be a profesional soccer player (at least 1 year)
and would love to be a model... (yeah even I can't believe it) but only for photo sessions, you know the ones that are in perfumes posters

yeah but that's not something I can do here... being a model here in paraguay or in southamerica it's pretty sad, it's not professional, you need biiiiiiiiiiiig boobs big butt and it's ok, they don't care if you're photogenic or not, they just see how "big" you are, and to be famous you have to date soccer players and appear in thongs in cheap calenders... that's awful... I don't want to do that to be famous, and by the way i'm a tinny person so there's no way to succeed here in Paraguay.

how shallow that tits and ass are all that matters to being a model. Whatever happened to charisma, poise, intelligence? That's the things that make a person truly beautiful. The source of beauty is 100% within the self. DD tits (which usually mean XXXL rest of the body) and a huge ass are totally superficial things and anyone who judges a person's beauty by that alone is a total simpleton.

PC - just don't lose sight of the goddess inside of you, see her because you ARE her, and when you can see and feel the Goddess inside yourself then you become beauty in its truest and purest form. Any modeling agency that can't see that is not worthy of having you.

well, what does any high school musician want to be -- thats right, rockstar.

Things are going pretty good too, I'm playing sax for a ska band that has has got 3 songs recorded so far and this summer were going to put out a full album so im really hoping i can get somewhere from that.

If not I've always liked cooking, maybe I'll be a chef.

I hear you get some sweet deals from the USMC but I dont think they could pay me enough to shave my head...
