What? Glory Of The World is not chessy for chrissake! How come u said that? I find it Powerful, with a message, and it has good muzik and Jens. . . he's da man in that song!

Chessiest? Ah! Magic Carpet Ride. . . .Damn I can't stand this song. . . the other day my sis was watching Aladdin and I was like. . . .Did TT saw this movie before writing this song?

Jens is the man anywhere, so imo this song isn't special at all :D And about Magic Carpet Ride, TT certainly got inspiration from the Arabian Nights ( i think it's how it's called in English) tales, so yeah it is related to Aladdin somewhat :D

Allright, if I get it right, cheesy means those "too happy, the world is so nice and perfect" songs. (when I´m wrong, please correct me).
If my definition above there is correct, I have to say that Elements part1 - except Eagleheart and Soul of a vagabond" is really cheesy.
Maybe the lyrics of Eagleheart are cheesy, too, but to be honest, mostly I don`t care about the lyrics. Music is the important thing to me.

Oh come on. Eagleheart has the cheesiest lyrics and music of any strato song, followed closely by Hunting High and Low. It's a pity they chose those songs as singles, they really don't represent strato's style AT ALL. All the other songs on the albums are very different. The lyrics, everything.

I agreee those two are really different from all the others on the album, and I sometimes think they were included on it just so they could release a single with them. But they're still very good. Take a guy who is not too dumb but doesn't know about Strato, make him listen to, say, Mother Gaia and then Eagleheart. He will certainly prefer the second one.

I agree that Eagleheart doesn't represent Strato's style, but I think it's still ok. I've got a feeling that when Elements pt.1 was released there were some disagreements inside the band and that influenced Tolkki's composing feeling. Comments?

I like Magic Carpet Ride----I thought it was kinda a love song ??? I thought it had hidden sexual connotations ??? Maybe I'm just a nut who sees sex&love everywhere in every song, etc. :red: Seriously, it sounds like a guy wanting to show some gal he's attracted to how great it would be if she decided to share/spend time with him. That he wants to show her the world(or HIS world)and the happiness&pleasures that exist within. :red: :luv3:
:buh:
Anyway, I like that song.
btw, Babylon(Iraq) in ancient times was like Las Vegas today----kinda like Sin City. Sorry for the history lesson, but Babylon(the word) is synomous for wild, uninhibited lifestyle etc.

Some of the songs from Fright Night are pretty cheesy, like Witch-Hunt.

Well, it's not like that for me. . . but colors were made for taste.
Hey BEG! thanks for the History lesson, I love history, and I did not know about the meaning of this word, Babylon, BTW I really like this song, the music, and the chorus behind Tk, and that's the only thing I like from Magic CR, the music, but the lyrics are still chessy for me, although what u say BEG :D :D :D

EH. . .perhaps, but I like this song 'cuz I've read some books about witch trials in Salen Massachusets in 19 something. . . and I've read what was to be treated like a witch on those times. . .

There you could be right. "Tears of eyes" is a little bit strange - an oboe-solo ? That`s strange -, "Thin ice" is bad. and "Break the ice" ...... I don`t know, it`s okay. Are there any other "ice-songs" I forgot ?

According to dictionary:

Cheesiest: from cheesy. Of very poor quality; synonym: bum, cheap, chintzy, crummy, punk, sleazy, tinny...

Hope now you all have a good idea what cheesy means...

Cheesey in my opinion: Silly-sounding, poor quality, usually makes people laugh it so pathetic :D

If that's the case, I dont believe there to be any present in Stratovarius... all the songs are very intelligent and convey good, productive thought about the world, love, and life itself.

Did you say that cause TT was reading ? :D Anyway I also don't think Strato has very cheesy songs... But some other bands have only those :D like Manowar or Rhapsody for example, their lyrics are the cheesiest ever.

Sure they are.. But their lyrics... Just read Symphony X' The Accolade, it's very Rhapsody-like but at least 100 times better.
