My friend, you are absolutely right. Here's an example:
I am a big fan of Kansas. I have a bunch of their albums that I listen to a lot. A couple of years ago, my uncle (a huge Kansas fan), my cousin, and I went to Kansas City, Missouri to see Kansas live. It was the most awesome thing I've ever seen. A few years later, I saw them again in Lincoln, Nebraska. That was even better!!!
Point in case: go see a band live...especially Kansas!
Somehow I still have an account...yay...?

It depends on which live track you have. Most live versions of "Phoenix" on the internet suck, for various reasons, but at one time I had one live version that was the best thing I have ever heard from any band. I need to find it again.

The version on the A Million Light Years Away single sounds pretty good.
Is the metal dead?
I don't think so

Most of the time I prefer the studio version to the live one, cause it just sounds better. But the live version of Forever that is on I Walk To My Own Song single sounds great, and the Black Diamond on it rocks too, when Jens plays the opening sooo fast wow

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated ~desu

Most Live versions are a bit faster than the album versions, for example Destiny/Fantasia on the second disc of elements pt. 2

Agree, That's exactly what happen with SOC, it's faster than the original.
But. . .I found the other version thanks to G, it's way better. . . . .

			Its an interesting topic.
I listened to Paradise Studio and came to like it a lot.
Then, when I heard it live, I was embarrased at how out of tune Koti's singing was. I was really upset and refused to listen again. Then I went back to the studio version and realized that the live version had so much power! So now I prefer LIVE!

well i was very disappointed with the live version of "The Dragon Lies Bleeding" by Hammerfall on the one crimson night album.. the studio version sounds very powerful and fast, but the live version is just... boring..
