Dragonball Z Budokai

Post by Tyruke » Mon Feb 28, 2005 3:45 am

I know this topic has a title that would seem to have nothing to do with Stratovarius, but I thought I'd say something I found interesting. Now, I am a person who likes to play video games and recently I have been playing Dragonball Z Budokai 1 for the Playstation 2 and while I was playing the game I noticed that a few of the songs in the background were Stratovarius songs from the album Infinite. All the songs were instrumental but I remember hearing Hunting High and Low, Infinity, and Glory of the World for sure. I don't know if there were any others, but those were definetly there. I wonder if they had to ask Stratovarius's permission to use them or if they songs just happened to sound so similar to the Stratovarius songs. So if any of you ever get a chance to play this game listen to the music closely and you'll hear it to.

I noticed the songs were similar. They aren't strato songs, but people ripping their melodic ideas off.

On a BellSouth DSL television commercial in my area, the MIDI to SOAV plays in the background. Its very obvious--it is changed just enough that they can't get sued, I guess---but even my son noticed it! :?

Btw, trying not to be picky--but doesn't this topic belong in off-topic ???

I noticed it in budokai 2, it has some others songs too, a lot of games do that, example, perfect dark for n64 has a lot of metallica like songs,
Stratovarius, The best power-melodic-symphonic metal band ever.
The legend of Zelda, The Best Game Ever.
Devil May Cry 3 Best Action Game Ever.

The Budokai series doesn't have very original music. A lot of Budokai 3's music is something I've definitely heard somewhere before. I never played much of the first two Budokais... Hyper Dimension is better than both of them. :)
