Hey
I'm new here and wanted to say hello
and I also have a question
I discovered Startovarius about a half a year ago and I must say
They're great!!!!
Now for my question:
Are there any other great bands like Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica?
Thanks for every answer.
Hey y'all !!!

If you like Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica, then look into bands like Helloween, Dionysus, Hammerfall, Rhapsody, Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Freedom Call, Gamma Ray, Angra.. And so on.

One band that also might strike your interest is the finnish Thunderstone.

Twilightning and Black Majesty are quite unknown and new but play great powermetal. Twilightning sounds the most like Strato.
With great power, there must also come great responsibility! (Peter Parker)

Yes, of course. There are hard to pick bands that sounds exactly like Strato and Sonata, cuz there are no.

Insania from Sweden sounds alot like Stratovarius.
Is the metal dead?
I don't think so

Hi Man, wellcome on this board.
Try this band MASTERPLAN , Jorn Lande is a great singer . Combined with two ex-Helloween members the sound is incredible
Also try Edguy and Tobbias Sammett's Avantasia - There you can hear Timo Tolkki did some vocals on the song "The Tower" ( I hope I didn't miss the right name of the song)

Listen to Elvenking! This is a great folk-power metal band. Their best album is Heathenreel.
Do you know Elvenking? Cool music, I think. :headbang:
