Singing like Timo Tolkki.

Here musicians can talk to each other about making music etc. Of course if you are not a musician you are still welcomed to this board, but the topics should somehow be about making music.

@stratoplayer: Well maybe not, the Kotipelto era was probably the best... but it's different, I liked the old Strato too, it was more into dark themes at the beginning, this is why I like some of those songs really.. still today!
I listen to Madness Strikes At Midnight and it's damn good to me! hehe

But for sure, the Kotipelto era in Stratovarius bringed the best songs, most sentimentals... inspiring.

Patricia: You are right on this hehe :)

I think the both have different and interesting voices. After, the opinions of each others are differents...Their manner of singing is different but, the emotion is here..
Personally, i prefer Koti's voice, but it seems you prefer Tolkki's voice.. It's your opinion and i respect it, but please don't be angry when someone says that Koti's voice is more sentimental, because it's just his opinion.
I like the differents albums from Stratovarius, but Imo and it's just my Imo, Timo Tolkki said himself he prefered to have a great singer and he could then concentrating more himself on all his guitar parts.
I think for example when Tolkki sings "Hold On To Your Dream" and also when Koti sings the same song...It's different but for me the 2 versions are nice. :)
Olen tyytyväinen...Onpa kiva tavata...

They are both two good singer, but they have a different voice and a different stile...
Anyway I prefer Koti to sing, even because in this way Tolkki has only to play his guitar...
...don't let my memory die,
but now it's time to be gone...

Sometimes I wonder what kind of musical direction they would have gone, if they had continued with an aggressive (like Tolkki) but also technical vocalist :)

(not that I don't respect Kotipelto - he of course IS the voice of Strato - but one can still imagine things..)
