MSN 7.0

Post by HvyMtlClickWitch » Wed May 04, 2005 8:05 pm

Is anyone else having astronomical problems with this program? Whever i sign in, it freezes and i cannot use it to do anything. What's more, i installed 6.2, and the first time i signed on it forced me to download the updated version. So i was back to square one. Is this happening to anyone else? If you have any suggestions that'd be great.

Dunno if its a network problem or a problem of the program, but have you tried an third party client or one of those messengers for several IM networks?

I agree with Shurik btw ;)

I hate it a lot less than i hate AIM. Though, if it weren't for the existence of cool metalheads, i wouldn't use it at all.

I havn't even downloaded 7.0. I decided to wait for other people to download it first and see if they suffer problems.

Seems I made a wise choice. You're not the only person I've heard of going through troubles like that...

I didn't download it. I'll stick to the previous version (6.x) until it's impossible to connect through it. The new version is not stable, and it is full of absolutely unnecessary crap.

Yeah, 7 seems to be targeting 13-year-old girls who are surgically attached to the internet.

Although i have to admit, some of the features were quite cool. The guy who smashes his guitar was awesome.

I didn't even realise 7.0 existed! Ah well not missing much by the sounds of it.

Despite my name being written wrong, cool ;)

I don't like Miranda too much but it's the least crappy thing I've found. Lots of options in the fucker and you can actually make it look like you want your IM to be. Anyway, I'm still waiting for something better to appear, I hope something will, in the next 20 years...

There is (at least, I think there is)...go to my last post, and you can download an all-in-one IM program. Trillian takes AIM, MSN, YAHOO, ICQ, and IRC into one easy to use program.

Works fine for me, only time it crapped out was when the server was out. Others seem to have more trouble with it then I have.

However, I agree with most, it's the worst IM there is, but I need it as some of my friends swear by it and refuse to take either AIM or YIM.

There is a program that can get rid of the extra crap (like winks and nudges and remove any unneccessary stuff): http://www.mess.be/ is the site it's on, the program is called Mess Patch.
