Yngwie/Stratopastiche - Tranquility Bay

Here musicians can talk to each other about making music etc. Of course if you are not a musician you are still welcomed to this board, but the topics should somehow be about making music.

Yngwie/Stratopastiche - Tranquility Bay

Post by AgentC » Sun Apr 03, 2005 1:26 pm

Hi!

This is a half-joke (except for lyrics - fuck all WWASPS facilities!) extreme Yngwie/Strato-clonesong, with an attempt to cram in as many cliches as possible. Contains programmed drums & keys and rest played live. Hope you have fun listening.

Very Malmsteenish, but I didn't notice Stratovarius influence that much (maybe because of the singer). Actually that song is quite good. :)

Hey, it's good if it's more Malmsteenish, 'cos that's what I primarily aimed for :)

Aresius: let's see if I can answer... I'm not terribly expert in recording, this was done just by feeding signals from mic & guitar multieffect directly to PC and using a multitrack-recording program (Goatstudio, textmode and very basic)

hi, sorry but, in my opinion it aint nothing new.. just a imitation of other bands, and the singer does not make a good job, quite bad actually.

Well it's difficult to compose or make something sound different from other bands.
I mean you can insert some different elements in your songs, elements that will bring somthing different from other groups, but the inspiration come from a genre, that has been developed by other groups,so it's normal to compose something that sounds similar to other groups.
Because is what you want do.
You wanna play metal? it's supposed that you have heard it before,so you have a base that will lead you to what you want do,but the base is what you cannot eliminate, althought you will not play metal :)

Understand?

P.S.: i listened to the sample you have left of your band anaconda, you are very very good!
but it sounds similar also that,it's metal! :)
You have insert some good elemtents, that other bands doesn't use,in your song, but it's similar to other bands.
The one from AgentC is very close to YM,and i think his aim was not to produce something new, just what he likes more.

Yep, DFH used. I'm actually a member in couple of bands/projects, but this kind of "solo" stuff is a nice outlet for perversions I wouldn't want to force on anyone else.

Post by Xtracto » Wed May 25, 2005 11:22 am

Hey man, your song was quite nice. Have you considered uploading it to some place like Dmusic ?? I think you could start to gain some fans over there. Just that tone as it is.

If you need more help just mail me (xtracto@gmail.com) and I can help you with the uploading / page setting and whatever.

Cheers.[/url]
