Questions for the Band

Post by therabbidchimp » Mon Jun 06, 2005 11:52 pm

Greetings, long time reader/fan, 1st post, I'm hoping to get some questions answered, but I know the band is no doubt busy with their tour/new album coming out, so, if anyone has answeres or speculations please feel free to help.

1. Today a friend alerted me to a leaked copy of your upcoming CD, Pop Killer. I know Mr. Tolkki's point of view in the past has been somewhat favorable to sharing their music (which is how I discovered them, and since bought 3 shirts and 5 CDs and soon a ticket to a show), however I wondered if this would be different, or if maybe you views have changed at all.

2. If the stops in USA for the upcoming tour do well, can we expect more dates added at the end of the tour? Or perhaps an exclusive US tour eventually?

3. Finally, can we have any updated word on a few release dates like the fabled second DVD, and the Maniac Dance video?

Quite a lot and many topics I know, but thanks in advance for any insight.

Well Timo and Jens havn't posted here for some time (presumably quite busy in that case) but let's try to help you with some stuff.

You're obviously not a long time reader, because you'd know the answers to several things if you were.

First up, Pop Killer is _NOT_ the album's title. The title of the album is simply 'Stratovarius'.

Secondly, from what I personally remember, Timo T didn't seem too keen on filesharing and mp3 trading. I know I wouldn't be, if people had the whole album before it was even released!

Third, I'm pretty sure if there's a good reception in USA they'll be back. But who am I to say, I'm just a fan. I'm just guessing.

Fourthly, we've been told on the forum that the DVD is pretty much on ice, as it were, for the moment. As for Maniac Dance, the album is due for release in September, so I imagine the video will be out at around the same time.

Timo Kotipelto said that downloading MP3 is okay as long as no money is excanged.

So TK is more okay with it than I am. I think if you listen to downloaded MP3's a lot, you are supposed to buy the album.

I wonder about the fate of that DVD, also. Personally, I think the band should do another one, and if this DVD does not pan out, maybe footage from THIS worldwide tour could be published. I have no doubt that it would sell very well! :)

I chose CottonCandy as my nick 'cause I'm sweet, soft, and pink!

Being "in the know" is not necessarily a good thing. ;)
