I had been waiting for this festival for a few weeks, after I finally realised I had to put up the dough to exerience this great line-up. The line-up consisted of 5 bands, all of which I was a fan of, so it was a great deal.
Kotipelto started the day with his/their 80s-influenced heavy metal. The setlist consisted mostly of Timo's two solo albums, and they managed to play all of my favorite songs. Kotipelto had dug up some big names in Mirka Rantanen (Thunderstone) and Janne Wirman (Children of Bodom) to join band mainstays Tuomas and Lauri. Hunting High and Low was awesome to hear live, but the definite highlight came at the end, when Timo was joined by his Strato-fellows Timo Tolkki and Jens Johansson. This was a great surprise, and Black Diamond is simply awesome to hear live every time.
Here's the full Kotipelto setlist:
1. Seeds of Sorrow
2. Lord of Eternity
3. Coldness of My Mind
4. Evening's Fall
5. Travel Through Time
6. Waiting for the Dawn + guitar solo
7. Can You Hear the Sound?
8. Take Me Away
9. Hunting High and Low
10. Reasons
11. Black Diamond

Let's give credits to the person who wrote that review.
He posted his complete (and great) review (including several other bands who played during the festival) on the Kotipelto forum (http://www.kotipelto.com/forum/viewtopi ... picID=1585) and his nickname is Harri.

Cliff is right, it was nice to read his review. It seems that the setlist in Tampere was quite similar to the European Tour's setlist.

You are right, that is a good pic. TT looks alot younger with short hair.
Is this 1988 again.
Seriously, the Harri dude writes a great review. He must work for a magazine or something.
He was fortunate to get to see that show. With all the great songs and performers.

It seems, that both Timo cut off some of his hair.

OH.. SH*T! I'm ready to kick my own ass now, period. I was gonna go to Sauna Open Air, I already had the money for the tickets and all, but then I decided to save the dough for no real reason and now I missed this.. *humongous swearing*
:(:x
Oh well, it's good to see this happening anyway.
Now I'm really looking forward to the Kultturitalo gig.
