Stratovarius just performed at Wacken Open Air 2005.

This year's "Wacken Surprise Act" was Stratovarius.

Three songs were played: Hunting High and Low, Black Diamond and Maniac Dance.

Says singer Timo Kotipelto: "It was great to be back on stage!"

Says guitar player Timo Tolkki: "Hey Jens stop updating that stupid web page and come and DRINK!!!!!"

Says new bass player Lauri Porra: "Drinking????? WOOHOO"

There is a picture from the performance

Since I got into Strato mid-2004, it's f*cking great to see them as a *normal* band :D

BTW, I bet you anything that the pic was taken by Jens :p

@MaFiaBoY: That pic from the stage? You can see Jens on the backward on the photo so he cannot have taken the pic.

Maybe he meant that in General terms and he had water, juice or coke&the other guys had booze. Hopefully, thats the case--or they will be right back
where they started. :(
Maybe Tolkki has "cleaned" the other guys up&they are on water&juice, too! :) Scratch that :buh: Its musicians we are talking about here!

I'm glad they played BLACK DIAMOND for those folks--I know they loved that :headbang: and the MANIAC DANCE song gave them a taste of what is to come! :rvd: Awesome! :)

I guess they could play only 3 songs because they had only 20 minutes time to be on stage so...

I was there, and I must say, that it was the shortest and the best gig in my live!!! Absolutly fantastic. I can´t wait until their next show. I´ll have some ictures, I guess in week from my friend with press pass.

there is nothing to tell you more about it... i think, that all of you know that feeling, when Strato is back...And I felt it in the middle of people, who felt the same! I didn´t see anything, I was just jumping and laughting...and beeing really, really happy...as everybody around me. And I´m sure, that Strato had the sama feeling...

They have played Hunting high and low, Black Diamond and Maniac Dance.. After the last song Timo Kotipelto said: "It is fucking great to be back!"
It was fantastic! Lauri Porra is a funny guy. He was headbanging all the time, when he wasn`t running around on the stage. Timo Tolkki`s state of health seemed very cool 8)

Sounds great!! I wish I had been there, but great to read that it went well, with the new lineup and the first show in a year or so.

Strato really are back. :D Like we all knew they would. :D

So, Jens has to be voted my favourite forum member. :D

/end asskiss.
