Sharon believes it's rock'n roll to throw eggs at Iron Maiden? Obviously she doesn't know what she's talking about. Especially cutting off the power of the PA at an Iron Maiden-show is exactly the opposite! Well... the crowd gave her what she diserves: Shame and dishonor.

However, porobably Bruce should think a little more before talking. It's definitely not okay to harass Ozzy at his own festival. A little more respect would do no harm...

I think Maiden deserves to have bottles thrown at them! At all concerts! My only objection is that Black Sabbath and Ozzy deserve even more bottles thrown at them when they're on stage. It's more than 15 years since Maiden put a decent album out while in Black Sabbath's case its more than 25 years. Or maybe more...

They're truly shite nowdays...both. Thy just live off from royalties from The Number of the Beast and Paranoid I presume. Black Sabbath reunion is such a $oke.

I doubt a lot that you have listened to some recent stuff of Iron Maiden ! they are by far the best live band that you can see and the last two albums are fucking great...perhaps you could listen to them before giving your opinion...By the way Tolkki is a very huge fan of the irons and if it's not his nº1 band, it will be very close to that.

Oh yeah it was bad. But they still put on great shows. Their frontman is in good shape, something we definitely cannot say about Black Sabbath...

By the way I have all of Maiden's latest stuff including X Factor, Vitual XI and Brave New World. Obviously I wouldn't care to get Dance of Death or whatevere else the latest album is called. It's mostly shite and they sound too bored to even play. I wouldn't know about live, seen them in '98 with Blaze and they were OK but nothing special. I don't understand where the fuzz comes from. Someone needs to kick those Dinosaurs off their pedestal for the sake of the mental health of us all

As for Black Sabbath, I dont even care about them - I dont even know a single title of any past '71 album of them! Hmm...Heaven and Hell maybe? Is there such an album? Anyway, they're so shite...Oh, I think I have Dehumanizer and it's so shite its hard to beat. As for live acts, I won't even go there...

Time for the Dinosaurs to do us all a favour and quietly dissapear. Their turn is way overdue....

BTW if they were any good I would say please, by all means, keep going. But they are shite...

And this of course is just my unimportant opinion...

What really irritates me about Maiden is not the fact that the quality of their music is on constant decline (that's subjective), but the fact that they keep on releasing compilations and live albums one after another, dozens per year, with no apparent reason (other than making few extra bucks off their past) ... And it's not like their live albums differ one from another, they're all have basicly the same songs ...

I entirely agree with You.
Difficult to believe that Bruce Dickinson said in a interview to Kerrang that, in the opposite of Metallica, Iron Maiden doesn't need to sell their soul, releasing only commercial albums to sell more than 10 millions copies. Of course, Maiden don't release album. just 10 live and best-of ones in a row

I might sound rude, but honestly I don't understand how people can be so crazy about Iron Maiden. Okay, they were a incredibly great band during 80's. Probably one of the best band in the metal scene. But honestly, had they released any "great" album since Somewhere in Time ? Plus, like you said, all the re-re-editions of the albums, the best-of, the live albums, the merchandising (one side "album cover" shirt for 30€, mmm ?).

If people really like the music style of Maiden, they should spend their money in some artists with better-value. Like Blaze or Tierra Santa.
The "Silicon Messiah" of Blaze is in my opinion a hundred time better than any album that Maiden released since 15 years.

i know some demos from local bands which sound much more professional than this "Dance Of Death". How is it possible that a band who get so much money, can have such a crap studio sound ? Even Killers, who was released in 1982, has a better sound !

I do agree, somewhat, with the decline on the albums' quality..

But I don't think Iron Maiden have ANY weak album. Except maybe No Prayer For the Dying.. and Fear of the Dark should be an EP.

Dance of Death's production is quite horrible, but there are some really nice songs in there - the titletrack, for example, is a masterpiece. Brave New World is, IMHO, an outstanding return.

One can argue that the Golden Years (Live after Death 'till 88 ) won't return - and they won't. But this is a band that didn't die, and sure as fucking hell didn't sit back and relax after NOTB. Everytime Maiden tour for a new album, they strongly make an investment on the songs from that album.

About the compilations, lives, best-ofs..

I -SO- agree with you. I own every studio album Maiden have ever produced, and three live albums (Live after Death, Live at Donington, Live at Rock in Rio). I also own Best of the Beast, because.. it's cool. *shrugs*

But they keep putting out new stuff. Edward the Great. The Essencial Iron Maiden. Oh come on. B U L L S H I T.

I'm still a huge fan. Of their music. Of their attitude. Of their regular touring. Up the irons.

They haven't done maybe nothing so SUPER GREAT what SIT was, but my answer is: Yes, they have. Very good albums, like 7th Son of a 7th Son and Fear of the Dark. And new albums too.
