If you like Metallica, you may check out Apocalyptica too.
Besides the already mentioned ones: Nevermore (check out Death Heart In A Dead World), Lake of Tears ( Headstones, Crimson Cosmos are "must-have"-s, also Forever Autumn), Masterplan (Aeronautics kicks ass), Therion, In Flames.

- Dragonforce
- Sonata Arctica
- Theocracy (1 album only so far, but great)
- Dragonland
- Freedom Call
- Masterplan
- Nightwish ("darker" but awsome)
