That's right, but I was not talking about which one is better or something, I was talking about the production.

And, anyway, I was screaming for Fright Night in the shows... and so some guys with me!

Case 1, Fright Night:

I don't really like Fright Night. There are some awesome pieces like Darkness, Future Shock and Fright Night. Especially Darkness is a masterpiece.
IceBreaker wrote:Well, I think it has very bad sounds, it sounds too amateur and stuffy.
With all my heart I agree with you...

Case 2, Twilight Time:

Sounds are perhaps better than on the other two. It has Hands of Time which is one of my all time favs and it's not even about the music. Yes, the music is great, too, but the words are the thing in this song. I kinda like the little filler there, Metal Frenzy. And there's Break the Ice too.

Case 3, Dreamspace:

I agree with Dave in this one. I love every one of the songs except Thin Ice which is just too weird for me. My choice from the album: underrated Abyss... What an great song! It hard to even start listing songs in rank order.

---

I think it's needless to say that everything above is IMHO...

They all are really good. I know the productions aren't perfect, but that doesn't matter. I mean, was the production of Nightwishs first album a perfection? I don't think so.

Well I like the voice of Tolkki too, it is very different but still great and what he wrote in the earlier days is still very good and hearable, dreamful!

I think without these albums, stratovarius wouldn't stay at that point which they stay now. The band has done its way like every other band - from the first album until today

Yeah, the sound quality of first Maiden album is terrible, but there are indeed some classic songs in IM record, like Remember Tomorrow, Phantom of the Opera, Strange World, Running Free, Iron Maiden...
And agreed, I can't find any "classics" from Fright Night.

IMO, Fright Night&Future Shock are pretty classic. I'd like to see them redone in Koti's voice. Have they not been done in concert by Koti&were they not pretty damn good? :)

Well... you can always listen Future Shock'96 (say whatever to my opinion, but I like '96 version much more than original. Koti sings it many times better than Tolkki, sound quality is million time better and playing is lots of more better.)

Fright Night was, during the tour 2003 in the medley.

Old Medley:

Fright Night
The Hands of Time
We are the Future
Dreamspace
Tears of Ice
We Hold the key

Do you have any bootlegs from this tour?
I'd love to hear that a lot.

They played Reign of Terror at Gates of Metal in 2004, and it was really cool!

At that gig Tolkki switched out forever to Kotipeltos Beauty has Come, really nice of Tolkki as this was one of the last gigs of Stratovarius (at that time when Tolkki had fired he band but had some summerfestivals left). It looked rather unplanned as Kotipelto later walked forward and hugged Tolkki onstage. A wonderful feeling swept thorughout the Strato-fans!

Setlist for the gig:
I walk to my own song
Speed of light
Hunting high and low
Eternity
Against the wind
Forever free
Distant skies
Phoenix
Beauty has come (instead of forever)
Father time
Reign of terror
Kiss of Judas
Destiny
Black diamond

My first and only Stratovarius gig so far, but there wil be more, thats for sure!

Is that on a single, or compilation by any chance? Can I buy it somewhere? Maybe I'll search for it, because that sounds interesting! :)
Also, I'd like to hear TT sing some of the newer songs of Stratovarius, like Destiny, Mother Gaia, Will My Soul ever Rest in Peace, Falling into Fantasy, Million Lightyears Away, ETC! :)

You can find it from Episode japan edition (well, at least on my japan version has it) or Father Time single.

You're welcome. But remember that Father Time single is quite rare (not so rare than some other singles of Strato, but still).

Yeah, though actually I think Kotipelto´s voice doesn´t fit so good on this song, this version is much better one. The original really has so much lack of the sound and many other things too. For me the original Future shock is one of the worst Strato-songs ever. Just because of those bad production reasons.

Kotipelto's voice doesn't fit to that song at all :?

But this is the fact: you can't say that "playing" is better in '96 version because it is just remixed version of the original song.

Future Shock (or the whole Fright Night album?) would be much better IMO if they remastered it (again) with Tolkki singing.

Dreamspace song is mixed perfectly. They did a great job with the weird effects. I think Dreamspace is my favorite Stratovarius song.

Nice that ppl has sometimes totally different opinions. Because IMHO I can´t stand those weird effects in the middle of that song. I find them very annoying. :?

Chasing Shadows suck big time imo. The only weak track on the album.

Full Moon doesn't really count, as it's a bonus track, and Thin Ice is a pretty good song imo.

I think that on Fright Night Tolkki sings horribly but in Twilight Time just perfectly.
