Re: Soldier's Prayers
That is a beautiful, touching song--one of Tolkki's best. It says everything about the hardship of war from one who lives it--the soldier. I don't know if TT was ever in the armed forces, but this song sums up the emotions that run through military people on the front lines.Equinox wrote:I dont really know who sing it, the file says is strato, but i cant find it in any cd of the....i try on the discography window and nothing....i cant tell if is strato...the voice is liek the one on kill the king and future shock, but i just don know....give me a hand!!!!!!!!!!
People should write the lyrics down&give theirs sons/daughters a copy of it to carry with them when they are shipped out--I don't know---seems the words would help.

Re: Soldier's Prayers
Maybe lyrics are not about something fun and nice, but thanks to the music this song could be a hit, very melodic, easy to remember after first hear. I wonder why such songs are no promoted, maybe artist don't want this, or maybe it was a hit in Finland, or somewhere ten years ago?
So where does the power come from to see the race to its end?

Re: Soldier's Prayers
Maybe Soldier's Prayer (or whole CVAT album) is not promoted because this solo album just isn't for big crowds. 9 songs of 11 are instrumentals and I don't think so that Tolkki wanted to promote his solo album so much (maybe small budget?).Electric Eye wrote:I wonder why such songs are no promoted, maybe artist don't want this, or maybe it was a hit in Finland, or somewhere ten years ago?
IMO CVAT is great album with full of classics, many times better than many stratoalbums.

I think the same about hammerfall albums and Magnus Rosen solo ones...Magnus solo stuff are ABSOLUTELY superior and much more cool than anything that Oscar and Joacim can do.Stratofanius wrote: IMO CVAT is great album with full of classics, many times better than many stratoalbums.
CVAT is a good album, yeah...i think that its better than elements.

Re: Soldier's Prayers
Classical Variations and Themes was a very famous cd in Mexico.
I bought it years ago and i still see it everywhere, it's somehow strange you didn't know about it, but i sugegst you get it right now!!! it is a masterpiece, believe me
"Solitude" comes as a bonus track, an extraordinare and depressive ballad.

Interesting that the album is famous in Mexico but nearly unknown in Finland (at least nowadays).neonlightchild wrote:Classical Variations and Themes was a very famous cd in Mexico.

Well, I´ve heard rumours the SA & Mex bonus "Solitude" is though sung by Kotipelto, right? If it is so then it´s very odd situation. A Strato-song made later with Kotipelto on vocals on Tolkki´s solo slbum.

That's true. I couldn't believe my ears when I first heard the song. Stratofanius couldn't even believe me when I told him about it. I just listened the song and wondered why is Tolkki singing so strangely and then I realized it was Kotipelto singing. Great song, BTW!IceBreaker wrote:"Solitude" is though sung by Kotipelto, right?
