Wow, you ain't kidding!

This band kicks serious ass! All that experience really show. Gritty yet polished. Demolished by Fire is one rocking tune and I hear a hint of BLS in Anathematized. Can't wait to hear more. Any idea when they're going to release a cd? :headbang:

but how comes that Jari already has a new band? I thought he left Stratovarius to have more time for his family.
Anyway, sound is good, and I like the music, but the singer, well, somehow I don't like his voice. But that's a question of taste.

i have the same exact thoughts, from why he has a new band to the fact that i don't like the singer's voice!

Ok, it works fine now. Thanks Garden State Girl.
I don't like the part where it reads: In 2005 Jari quit playing bass for Stratovarius. I dunno, it just sounds wrong in mi mind...

And how do you know how much he is spending time with his new band?? Stratovarius was more or less full-time job, Mess may be more like hobby. At this point, anyway.

Yeah, of course, it's just a question that came to my mind. But it seems that this Mess-project is been building up at the moment. Maybe they don't have larger plans, but I can't imagine that a band starts and you join with thoughts like "okay, they are not that big, I don't have to spend too much time with them". But who knows. Maybe there were also other reasons for Jari to leave Stratovarius.

Mess website is built on Macromedia Flash and in order it to work properly you need
Flash Player installed and security settings in your browser set allowing it to run.

Well... Good band but... They have nothing of particular nor they're fantastic...
And the riff of "demolish by fire" is copied from Dream Theater

They sound pretty good, but I'm not sure if they are releasing an album with Jari, maybe they are only using his name to get some attention, dunno.

If you bothered to read the site, you could've actually noticed Jari was there forming the band back in 2001.

I found the songs cool, mostly the first one. Gotta get 'em all. :w00t:

Wow, I really like Mess. Especially the singer and drums. Nice n' gritty.

Same here, I personally prefer Jari's style of playing. Lauri is however a far better performer.

He didn't leave the band in good terms so that's
not a suprise that he's in another band.

Jari is a great player with quite a unique style. But his excessive use of wah-wah, especially when he played that weird *noise* on Strato gigs was a bit weird. Works better with Mess than Strato I would say. Even further, in Strato he never had the chance to really improvise with bass becoz Strato music limits his expression, Strato only needs a bass, not yet another solo wanker. They already have some Timo and Jens action. But again, I haven't yet seen or heard Lauri with Strato so he might be another wanker too...
Looking forward to a metal mess album with Jari's wah-wah in its full shine, as it does sound good when used in the right songs

Me too, but soon I'm going to check it. I said I would prefer Jari to be still bass player in Stratovarius, because then evertyhing was really OK. And change of one of the musican from that line-up will change this band a bit in my opinion.
