right, because it didn't happen at once. But it all leads to the aim that is obvious. People who involve themselves in a relationship has their expects, which won't tell at the beginning... the problem is when they reveal it later to the partner, and one side doesn't accept it. The other one may feel this period of time as a wasted one... and has right.
I don't have reasons to not believe you, but still the question 'what is love?' is open...
