Re: Should there be a POST LIMIT before creating new topics?
It used to be 50, which allowed the newbies to learn about posting a topic--or, not.

I voted with 100, but 50 would do the job too.

50 is my vote
sometimes the poor fellows post some utter nonsense, but some have very good points in putting up new threads

I think 50 was good, but I certainly wouldn't mind if it was 100! That would give any morons ample time to notice that we, the reigning crowd, do not like them.

Voted for 50, I think that could be a good idea, but still I would like to get more moderation here first.

By the way, if the moderator is convinced by this poll and reintroduces the post limit, we clearly can say: This forum is a DEMOCRACY!!

Re: Should there be a POST LIMIT before creating new topics?
that's true.. especially with the whole Spam Forum now, it would be so fucking easy to spam it up and post some stupid "CHECK OUT OUR BAND!!" thing and then never post again.Stratobanger wrote:Nah...i think 100 is enough...'cause you can reach 50 post easily by spamming all topics around...anyway...if i had to reach 50 posts...then the new ones should to...

So did I, even if I think any limit would do the job, considering how things are going here.
i remember we talked about that previously, but got no response.
Anyway, while we can't get a moderator here we really should have that post limit thing back again... I don't even feel like reading this forum anymore due to the amount of "hi, im new here" or "hi, look at my pics" or "hi, this is my site" useless topics.
We had a nice topic about the strato tour, which got trashed with the flood of different ones about the very same thing, and the same happened with another cool topics...
And im complaining like that because i used to like reading and posting here, what’s the use of posting different and cool topics if the forum gets loads of shit everyday?

About the moderators, i do think more than one is necessary, and it’d be better if they were chosen among non strato fans... i think that would avoid lots of trouble and gossip.

Re: Should there be a POST LIMIT before creating new topics?
Like most of us stated last autumn 2 mods for English areas, 2 mods for Finnsh and 1 for other languages (or 1 for both English and other languages + 1 for English only, and the finnish ones). Without forgetting Jens as an admin.Cristiane wrote: About the moderators, i do think more than one is necessary, and it’d be better if they were chosen among non strato fans... i think that would avoid lots of trouble and gossip.
But non-Strato fan mods. That could be tricky too. What about a mod who thinks "What f*cking Stratovarius? Never heard. Is that a band? Power/Melodic metal, hmm?"

OK, well, they should be then ppl who just aren´t HC fans, but may like Strato too, or have neutral feelings about the band.

Make it 16777215
Well--if we had moderation, there wouldn't be any need of a limit.
Sometimes newbies have interesting ideas and questions, just take a look at the topic by Infinite Diamond.
Oh, and only Jens can bring this limit back--the other secret moderator can't

Re: Should there be a POST LIMIT before creating new topics?
We tried non-board member Mods before&they played favs&such, too--allowing some members to mistreat others&some to call other members&band members names, etc. Then, were more strict on ones they did not like.....people have eyes&a brain, and can see what is going on.IceBreaker wrote:Like most of us stated last autumn 2 mods for English areas, 2 mods for Finnsh and 1 for other languages (or 1 for both English and other languages + 1 for English only, and the finnish ones). Some basic rules just need to be set down by Jens--like posting number before topic, maybe limit the number of posts a day, etc--techno issues. I think as far as behaving ourselves, we all are doing OK--IMO--but, it just these techno things that are getting a bit rough around the edges. Like those ENORMOUS photos a person posted--good pics but HUGE!!!!
