Has Night Time Eclipse ever been played live?
If so, how was it?
I'd love to hear a live version of this one.

I *wish*!
I'll be seeing them again in October, maybe they'll pull this out of the vault as a birthday present just for me.

(Actually, if they were to do anything like that just for me, I'd have to request "The Abyss of Your Eyes"!)

Both are great songs and on the top of my list... Im just hoping for any of the older songs that dont get much play time anymore... since stratovarius never came here before last year we never got to hear the older songs live ....I love dreamspace, twilight time, and fourth dimension and would love to hear more songs off those albums in L.A. at least once

Night Time Eclipse is on my top 3 -Strato-songs list, so I would definetly want to see it live too.
Re: Has Night Time Eclipse ever been played live?
I agree with you guys! It is getting boring when a band plays always the some songs.. I would prefer not to listen to Black Diamond e.t.c. for one time and listening to some songs that they usually (or never) don't play on stage! (such as: Break the Ice, Shattered, Night Time Eclipse, Eternity, Galaxies and more)

Madness Strikes at Midnight!
There is the song which should be played, with the intro of course. Sure everyone disagree with me, but whatever

I like that song too. One of my faves from Twilight Time. What an underrated album that is, almost every song from it is good and I'd like hear at least some of them live.

I agree that too. One of their best albums in my opinion. Out of the Shadows would be nice to hear too.Mormegil wrote:I like that song too. One of my faves from Twilight Time. What an underrated album that is, almost every song from it is good and I'd like hear at least some of them live.

Well, I notice they have been changing the setlist somewhat. And I certainly wouldn't mind if a song I already heard the last time, like "The Kiss of Judas" or "Against the Wind" were dropped in favor of something that you don't get to hear every day. Not that I dislike those songs, but it's not like "Night Time Eclipse" is in regular rotation at a Strato gig!

Re: Has Night Time Eclipse ever been played live?
This is the problem you often get when you are a long-time listener/a die hard fan of a band. You have delved deeper into the band's discography than a casual listener ever will. The casual listener knows Stratovarius from their hits. The die-hard fan knows all the songs and probably has grown a bit tired of the hits. The problem is, most of the people at concerts aren't die hard fans. If Stratovarius played, say, "Shattered" a lot of people would stand still and wonder what the fuck that song is. On the other hand, they know "Black Diamond" will always get a good response from the crowds.Maniac wrote:I agree with you guys! It is getting boring when a band plays always the some songs.. Oh, now I understand, why the poll wasn't so successful...You explained it quite good!Jabi wrote:This is the problem you often get when you are a long-time listener/a die hard fan of a band. As much as I have a problem with their setlist and the Rage 25th anniversary setlsit I have to agree. It makes no sense to play much of the old and lesser-played stuff because appart from the die-hard fans they would get no response from the crowd.

Re: Has Night Time Eclipse ever been played live?
^ Same thing with Megadeth. If it was my first time seeing them I might be a little disappointed if they didn't play holy wars. I've seen them 5 times now and it's almost guranteed that Holy Wars is going to be the encore song which is alright, but kinda boring predictablity wise.
It would be cool if Stratovarius played the hits and then alternated the "obscure" songs between different shows! (but don't play Night time, play songs like learning to fly, I'm Still Alive, or Legions
)

I have many bootlegs about Episode tour but not that one and indeed I don't know if it really exists.... Anyway I saw once on a Japanese site that gig (May 10th '96). I wrote to the site and they told me that the cd was sold out... I'm not sure but I guess it could be a fake... never seen that gig around...even though would be great hear Night Time Eclipse live...Jabi wrote:Thanks!
